NORTON 360 Log-ins problem

One of my logins requires 3 fields to be filled in with the 3rd field being a random question.

Example:

Bank Login:

Field 1 = username

Field 2 = password

Field 3 = description of the card (exm: business; personal etc...);

Field 4 = remember my access card and description

I can't use Norton 360 Log-ins to remember this page I know that NIS have a solution for exactly the same problem already just wondering how come 360 still isn't up to date also if it is I would like to get the update or find the resolution posted so I can have this bug fixed as soon as possible I'm using Norton since 2003 I was exited to see when you added the log-ins option but have to be honest it is very disappointing to see that I can't use it on one of the pages that I visit the most.

Re: NORTON 360 Log-ins problem

Did you tested that site with the new engined version of NIS (NIS2009)? Bacause Norton 360 2.0 has NIS2008's engine (an older one), and that can cause the difference you have.

The new  version of 360 (3.0) will containe the 2009 engine, and will work the same as NIS2009 works. /From the last beta builds I think it will be released soon./

Re: NORTON 360 Log-ins problem

Thank you for your reply and for trying to help unfortunately I have no idea how to test it with 2009? I have Norton 360 V: 2.5.0.5 Protection updates: 02/03/2009 I thought I purchased the newest version as I just bought it on January 8 or so.

How do I get the new v3?

Thanks again

Re: NORTON 360 Log-ins problem

When the final version of 360 3.0 is ready, you just need to download it, and install it with your subscription key (new versions are always free updates). It will be released soon.

I'm not sure if it will work fine with log-ins having more forms than two (username and password), but it will save two of the data, and you will have to write only one data...

Re: NORTON 360 Log-ins problem

I just can't get it this is definetly not a solution

NIS already have a solution to this problem why Norton 360 cosidered to be a better program at least by the cost of it I was hoping I was paying more for a better software I was hoping such a simple issue could be fixed after 2 years to see the solution for NIS click the following link

Re: NORTON 360 Log-ins problem

So from that post you can get the info, that it was fixed in the 2009 engine (the newest is the 16.5 version), so you will have this "update" in Norton 360 3.0, which has the same engine as the new NIS/NAV2009 versions.

So you must wait until it will be released (very very soon, I think in this month, but this can be only confirmed by a Symantec Employee), and when it's available, download the trial installer, and install it with your full subscription key, and you will have a much much better program then 360 2.0.

EDIT: Check this post: http://community.norton.com/norton/board/message?board.id=N360_PB&message.id=1171#M1171

Norton 360 3.0 testing is over, it will be available very soon! :)

Norton 360 Version 3.0 is available now.  Go download and install the trial version and input your product key to 'activate' it with your existing subscription for v2.0

Re: NORTON 360 Log-ins problem

Hi Zk-

I can confirm that in general, the fixes for IDSafe that were made for NIS 16.2 (referenced by the URL you posted)  were also included in the IDSafe feature of N360v3.

For more confirmation, can you share the bank URL that isn't working for you in N360v2?  Perhaps some of us forum users can test dummy logins on the page with N360v3 to check that they are saved properly.

Re: NORTON 360 Log-ins problem

Hi ZK,

I'm sorry that Identity Safe is not saving logins for the two sites that you've listed (EasyWeb and MyFax).
The EasyWeb site fails to save the correct value for the username- it saves the value from the "Description" field instead of the "Access card number" field, which are both text fields. This is different from the problem described in a different thread for Halifax bank. The Halifax bank login form had one text field and two password fields. That issue was fixed in NIS and the patch has recently been posted for N360. Unfortunately, the problem with the EasyWeb site is not addressed by that fix; both NIS and N360 save the Description field as the username. The MyFax site fails because Identity Safe isn't notified when the login form data is posted to the web site because it occurs through JavaScript.

We are going to be making improvements to how Identity Safe classifies form fields and detects form data submission. These changes should correct the issues with the sites that you mentioned, but I'm afraid they won't be available any time soon. I'm trying to find some suitable workarounds to tide you over in the meantime. When form data submission is not detected, as with the MyFax site, you can often work around the issue by saving the login through a different form on the website. I found one here:http://www.myfax.com/affiliate_direct_login.asp. Try submitting your login on that form; it should be detected and saved, so that you'll at least be able to have your login auto-fill when you visit the main login page at https://secure.myfax.com/Login.aspx

Re: NORTON 360 Log-ins problem

Hi jlatino0,

Thank you for your reply I tried the myfax page and it works great. Let me know if you can do the same for the bank just to get me through in the mean time until you figure out the solution for the other pages just a suggestion would it be possible to go to log-ins and just manually enter the log-in info like the webaddress and the username and password it may make life easier I think. Well anyway I hope you will come up with a fix soon enough so I do not have to change softwares. Once again thank you for your efforts.
