Norton 360 not compatible with Malwarebytes

I have used Norton Internet Security and Malwarebytes side by side for the last three years on my previous Dell desktop.  The two programs never had a conflict.  I recently purchased a new Dell PC and, after setting it up, I installed Norton and Malware Bytes.  They no longer seem to be compatible.  I recently received a notification that a new version of Malware Bytes was available.  When i tried to install it I got this message:" We have detected Norton 360 installed on your computer.  This product may interfere with the installation of Malwarebytes.  Please click yes to find out how to safely install Malwarebytes."  Has anyone else encountered this potential issue?

Dell XPS 8930

Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-9700 CPU @3.00GHz 

Installed RAM 16.0 Gb

64 bit operating system x64 based processor

WIN 10 Pro v1909 OS build 18363.1139

I'm using Norton 360 v 22.20.5.39

All the Malwarebytes KB says is to disable Norton while installing MB.  I didn't do that but if you want you can just right click the Norton system tray icon > Disable Auto-Protect and select a duration on the window.

I have both running along each other on this machine.  You can make exclusions in each too if you want but I haven't bothered.

I'm currently using Malwarebytes Free v4.2.3.96-1.0.1122 as an on-demand scanner on my system, but further to Krusty13 comment about creating mutual scan exclusions in both Malwarebytes v4.x and Norton 360, also note that many Norton users turn OFF the Malwarebytes Premium setting at Settings | Security | Windows Security Center | Always Register Malwarebytes in the Windows Security Center. This ensures that Norton 360 (or whatever other antivirus you use for real-time protection) is registered with Windows as the main real-time antivirus.  When that setting is OFF your Norton 360 will have the primary responsibility for malware detection and remediation and Malwarebytes Premium will essentially work as a "backup" to look for any potential threats missed by Norton.
