"Norton 360 Smart Scan hanging on advanced issues and will not complete". I have not uninstalled and reinstalled as it seems more than coincidental that both my computers experience the same issue at the same time. I am in Australia. Any ideas?

When I run smart scan the process finishes with an error message.
Can anyone advise how I over come this please?
I am attaching an image.

I have the same issue it hangs on Advanced Issues. I then get the instruction at 0x00007FF4E80784C referenced memory at 0x (Loads of 0's) could not be read.

I am in Canada and I am experiencing the same thing. I cold booted my computer after leaving it scanning advanced issues last night, today it's been scanning for over 2hrs.

Add me to the list. UK based.
Recently swapped from KIS. Norton has been working fine until I tried a Smart Scan yesterday. Hung three times on the Advanced. Today hung twice and caused Norton to crash/close once.
In all fairness, this isn't a huge issue as the Advanced findings only point to an advert to another Norton product which I don't have and don't plan to buy - I just click the "Next" button on autopilot. However, causing Norton to crash while I was online is not ideal. Clearly a problem with a recent update.

For me the problem appears to have been 'Solved' / 'Masked' by :-
(Norton 360) Settings> Administrative Settings> Special Offer Notifications> switch from ON to OFF.
Hope this helps - still find it strange that 'Advanced Issues' were O.K. for several weeks and then started to hang.
Suspect the 'Issues' listed before hanging took over, were an advert for another piece of software from Norton.

I have the same problem of Norton 360 "hanging" while conducting scans. Extensive troubleshooting I've performed (which included several uninstalls and re-installs of Norton 360) has not resolved the problem. The issue occurs on multiple computers that run on my network and is not isolated to a single machine. The problem started appearing in early April 2022 and seems to be getting worse. I've uninstalled Norton 360 completely on my primary computer to avoid any stability issues. It would be helpful to understand how to remediate the problem so I can use Norton 360 software under my subscription plan. Thanks.

A kind respondent has pointed out the solution to this problem. Open Norton - At "Device Security" click "Open" - when this opens click "Settings" (at the top) - click "Administrative Settings" - scroll down to "Special Offer Notifications" and turn "Off". This fixed the problem for my computers. Good luck.....
