Norton Alert: Unsafe Site when entering Norton 360 app on iPhone

Started today.  Have been using the Norton 360 app since it was available.  Same iPhone, same app & no recent IOS upgrades.  When I go into the Norton 360 app, I get the pop up: Unsafe Site "We recommend you do not use this site." from Norton.  Again, been using this app for sometime and this just started today.  It doesn't happen with the Ad Blocker, Norton Password nor the Norton Device app.  When I check the report; Web Protection, UNSAFE, api.se-platform.com:443.  Then when I check the Full Report; safeweb.norton.com, Safe Web, Safe Web Report for: api.se-platform.com:443, OK, Safe.  Then I exit the app and try again and it's the same.  Any clues somebody?

location.se-platform.com:443, api.se-platform.com:443

Re: Norton Alert: Unsafe Site when entering Norton 360 app on iPhone

The issue here was identified as a back end service issue. It has been resolved now, but might take up to 24 hours for the locally cached information on your device to expire and get refreshed. If you want to hurry up this fix, it is suggested to uninstall and reinstall the 360 app.

I no longer see these notifications.

What iOS version is on your iPhone? What iPhone model do you have?

Are there any other apps open on the phone when you open 360 with this message?

I’ve had exactly the same problem. iPhone XS & iOS 15.2 as well. Ditto tried it after closing all other apps & it kept happening. Did a forced shut down & restart, still happening. Deleted & reinstalled Norton & now won’t let me login. Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks

Re: Norton Alert: Unsafe Site when entering Norton 360 app on iPhone

Hi All,  since yesterday (29th Dec) I've been repeatedly receiving an Unsafe Site message on iphone 12 pro, iOS 15.2... and when I look at the details it is referencing "api.pushd.com:443"

Have done full reboot etc.  Nothing seems to stop the message recurring at least once an hour.  I'm starting to get really worried but I can see previous forum post seems to be very close to the issue I'm having so hoping its a software bug rather than anything more serious.

I can't find any unusual app that is open or website tab in chrome that is a site I'm not familiar with.

Would appreciate any info, advice or reassurance I'm not under attack please!

I also have a similar problem but the warning says 'location.se-platform.com:443' instead. Just started today.

My phone is an iPhone 7.

What message are you getting when you try to sign into your Norton Account?

Did you happen to notice if this issue started happening after the iOS update to 15.2?

@Timed and @Darcy77

As a test, can you disable the Web Protection feature in 360 and test to see if you still get this message?

Re: Norton Alert: Unsafe Site when entering Norton 360 app on iPhone

Can sign into Norton Account just fine.

No, I upgraded earlier December, problem started yesterday.

Your issue seems the same as in this thread.  https://community.norton.com/en/forums/norton-alert-unsafe-site-when-ent... I am going to ask these two threads be merged so we only have to deal with one thread and avoid duplication.

As I suggested in that thread, can you try disabling the Web Protection feature to see if that stops the message?

Re: Norton Alert: Unsafe Site when entering Norton 360 app on iPhone

I disabled Web Protection, doesn't happen now.  However, I now of course have a "!", "Browsing at risk" on Web Protection.

Re: Norton Alert: Unsafe Site when entering Norton 360 app on iPhone

OK.  When I re-enabled Web Protection...Problem is gone for a few minutes, then started again.  Also, Darcy77 had the same problem and reloaded the app and can no longer log in.  So, issue not resolved for that user either.

Re: Norton Alert: Unsafe Site when entering Norton 360 app on iPhone

Hi @peterweb

Thanks for coming back so quickly - of course no probs to merge the threads.

Have just disabled the Web Protection - will see how things go over next couple of hours.

Very best...

Re: Norton Alert: Unsafe Site when entering Norton 360 app on iPhone

I have deleted a recently added to my iPhone SE (2020). I have deleted Instagram. I am still receiving warnings.

On rebooting I am now receiving realistic requests to provide an identity setup for Norton. I have not done this. I have concerns about doing so.  This may be displaced.

I would like to know, what is "api.se-platform.com:443"  ?

Re: Norton Alert: Unsafe Site when entering Norton 360 app on iPhone

Are you using a Wifi connection or cell data when you see this message?

If you can collect logs of this issue it can help diagnose what is happening.

Please send logs to Norton to help diagnose your problem. Start by opening iOS settings on your device and scroll down to the bottom where the apps are listed. Tap on the Norton  360 app and tap to Enable Debug Log.

Now use your device until it causes the issue you are having. In this case, turning off Web Protection to show there is no issue, and then turn it back on until the issue arises. Then shake your phone back and forth and a prompt will come up to send logs. Tap on Send Error Report and fill in any information requested. In your submission, please include "forum 'your username' " in the Case ID section of the report. Also include a link to this thread.

If you do send logs, please let me know and I'll notify my contacts to look for them.

Joining this thread from my previous post.

Problem started yesterday - was on previous iOS.  Upgraded to 15.2 this morning to try and stop this message but has persisted after upgrade.

Have disabled Web Browsing for now.  I have only been on Wi-Fi since issue started yesterday.

Many thanks!

Re: Norton Alert: Unsafe Site when entering Norton 360 app on iPhone

I have the same problem every time I open Norton it shows unsafe website :- api.se-platform.com:443. This is both on iPad and iPhone started yesterday 1400hrs 29/12/21. Reset iPad and at the minute it’s not reappeared. iPhone still has problem got a similar issue with Sky Sports Score app. So deleted the app. But problem with Norton still exists with Web Protection on!!

Re: Norton Alert: Unsafe Site when entering Norton 360 app on iPhone

I too have just seen this message come up. I will be submitting logs. Please if everyone here can submit logs it will help identify the issue.

EDIT

I have noticed that the detection message is sent as an iOS notification at the top of the screen. If you are looking at the 360 app at the time this come up, there is no indication in the app of any detection.

Re: Norton Alert: Unsafe Site when entering Norton 360 app on iPhone

Ditto here as well. iPhone 8+; iOS 15.2. Have been receiving that message all day now. Started just today, 12/30 very early in the morning.

Re: Norton Alert: Unsafe Site when entering Norton 360 app on iPhone

Update from my side of the rock.  Wife has the same iPhone 8+ (bought at the same time), same IOS 15.2 (upgraded at same time), same app and is a license off of my account, but her iPhone doesn't seem to have the same problem.  Currently on Wi-Fi.  Believe though, it started yesterday while on T-Mobile.

I had turned on debug late yesterday or earlier this morning.  However, tried the shaking the iPhone side to side thing just now, but no prompt comes up.

When Web Protection is off, never an issue.

Re: Norton Alert: Unsafe Site when entering Norton 360 app on iPhone

Same here in terms of sending logs - followed your instructions @peterweb but the shaking (tried multi shake variants!) doesn’t do anything and can’t see a manual option to submit logs.

Re: Norton Alert: Unsafe Site when entering Norton 360 app on iPhone

Sorry about the log instructions. That was the last information I had. I too just found that I cannot get the submission dialog to come up. I have asked my contacts to comment on this.

I have also escalated this thread. Hopefully there is enough staff around during the holidays that can get this information.

Have the same problem with unsafe site warning api.se-platform.com:443. Running on iOS 15.2, no other apps running, shutdown and restart phone and still occurs. Just started happening in last 24 Hrs.

Re: Norton Alert: Unsafe Site when entering Norton 360 app on iPhone

Seems to be OK now but still concerned. I have 360, password manager & VPN, so I deleted all 3 apps, then reinstalled. Tried to login in to 360 but couldn’t. Opened the VPN app & was able to login, then tried 360 again. Said my 3 registration spots were already used (true) so I had to transfer an old iPhone registration to my XS & am now logged in & no longer getting the unsafe site warnings. Seeing a few other people with the same issue on different phones now is still a worry though. My unsafe site warnings started yesterday Dec 30 & now seem to be fixed Dec 31.

Re: Norton Alert: Unsafe Site when entering Norton 360 app on iPhone

I am having the same issue. Mine says location.se-platform.com:43 And there was another one that popped up not on the app with the letters imgb or something but very similar. I called them and they said it’s a false alarm, which is annoying because how are we supposed to know what is real?

Re: Norton Alert: Unsafe Site when entering Norton 360 app on iPhone

Also, I am unable to chat with customer support online. When I click the button, it tells me to enable cookies in my browser if chat window does not open. It worked briefly and then booted me out. So now I have to call. Is Norton hacked? Also, I am not logged into the Norton passwords app but the same thing does happen on the secure vpn app,

Re: Norton Alert: Unsafe Site when entering Norton 360 app on iPhone

I as previously posted been suffering the same! However deleted Norton 360 on IPad yesterday and IPhone just now. No longer have the unsafe website warning!! I’ll post again if it returns!!

Re: Norton Alert: Unsafe Site when entering Norton 360 app on iPhone

I also have the same issue on my iPhone SE2020. It seems to be caused by apps that have not been fully evaluated by Norton despite them being no issue previously. If I use the STOCARD app which previously did not display any warning it now gives warning with detail as “ brands-prod.stocard-backend.com:443” is unsafe as untested. Is this perhaps being cause by a recent Norton update. It also happens with some other apps that were previously ok.

Re: Norton Alert: Unsafe Site when entering Norton 360 app on iPhone

It seems too simple - but I seem to have solved the problem for my phone ….. I also had the same pop-up as many others, starting in last 24/48 hours. I could replicate at will. I have accessed Safari through iPhone settings and deleted all history and cookies. I can no longer replicate the issue…. Seems too simple though …..

Re: Norton Alert: Unsafe Site when entering Norton 360 app on iPhone

Adrian Bowen’s solution of deleting all safari’s history and cookies seems to work for me also. Interesting to see if problem reappears

Re: Norton Alert: Unsafe Site when entering Norton 360 app on iPhone

I tried it. Still having the problem after clearing the history.

Re: Norton Alert: Unsafe Site when entering Norton 360 app on iPhone

@peterweb and @AdrianBowen Appears that the clearing History and Web Site Data has resolved the issue when using the Norton 360 app. However, I thought it was resolved earlier when I had turned Web Protection off then back on, but it started again. I will continue to watch for awhile.

Re: Norton Alert: Unsafe Site when entering Norton 360 app on iPhone

Strange. I tried deleting all Safari history and cookies the other day and it didn't work. Now it does.......Anyway thank you for resolving this issue.

Re: Norton Alert: Unsafe Site when entering Norton 360 app on iPhone

Hi all I think clearing history and website data is only a short term solution and think it will reappear within 24hrs dependent on the number of websites visited. I think Norton or Apple need to solve this issue with an update!

Re: Norton Alert: Unsafe Site when entering Norton 360 app on iPhone

I have heard from my contacts and they can confirm this is an issue that they are working on.

One suggestion as a temporary solution is to try reinstalling your Norton 360.

I'll let you know if I hear any updates on this.

I have not had the pop up when accessing Norton 360 app since I cleared the History & Web Data.
