Norton AntiSpam: lost all email spam filtering

Same problem here. Updated on night of July 7, 2017. Updated required reboot, so most likely was a major version change. I have lost all email spam filtering. Rebooted numerous times to no avail. Turned off Outlook connection, then reactivated. Rebooted several times again. Added more updates on 7/10. I am using winXP SP3 (the updates released after MS discontinued service for non-commercial users); Outlook Express (I like the simplicity and have never had issues); Norton Security is now v22.10.0.83, not sure what it was immediately prior to this, but last moonth it was v22.9.1.12 and all was working very well.

Thanks for reporting this, @John.R. Can you elaborate on what you mean by "I have lost all email spam filtering"? The functionality disappears from OutlookExpress? The filtering doesn't happen? Any details would help. Thanks.

Two aspects point to Norton:

1) No emails are being marked as spam, so therefore none get put into the "Norton-Anti Spam" folder. Meanwhile, Outlook Express is correctly sorting email marked as "[Spam]" by my accounts that use SpamAssassin.

2) Norton is not activating itself when emails are received. This can be seen by the lack of activity in Task Manager. Previously, there was a long delay when receiving the first email message, presumably while Norton wakes up (even opening the program window has a long delay to fully open). After my July 7 update, there is no delay at all and email messages begin downloading immediately.

Hi folks, Norton Security 22.10.0.85 has been released, and it contains a fix for this issue. I recommend that you run LiveUpdate to receive the update. Confirm that you have the above version, then see if this issue still occurs. Thanks.

After three runs of Liveupdate, the new version 22.10.0.85 is installed and the problem is fixed.
