Norton AntiSpam window keeps coming up

Hi,

Norton Security with Backup 22.5.2.15
Windows 7 Pro 32 bit
Outlook 2010

Problem: Welcome to Norton AntiSpam popup window won't go away

Every time I open Outlook 2010, the "Welcome to Norton AntiSpam" window pops up. Every single time I open Outlook

This despite the fact that "Don't show this again" is checked.

Possible cause:
The first time that Outlook was started after NS was installed, an Outlook Invalid Password box came up. I had to cancel and locate the correct password.

Even so, the next time when I entered and saved the correct email password, and the time after that, and after that, the AntiSpam window should have stopped coming up. But it still does.

How do I stop the Welcome to Norton Antispam window from coming up every time I start Outlook?

Have you clicked on the Settings on the main NS UI then click on Anti Spam to open that Window then click on the Client Integration tab where there is an opportunity to turn off the Welcome Screen.

If the Norton Add-on's Welcome Screen is continually appearing every time Outlook is started, then there is an issue with the Add-on's ability to communicate with the underlying Norton services engine...

What should happen if the "Don't Display Again" box is checked, is that the Welcome Screen should appear only the once (actually, it happens again each "first time" Outlook is first started after a significant-enough Norton engine update gets installed), then the Add-on changes the setting on the background engine configuration, mentioned by Michael, to "Off", assuming everything is working correctly - that is...

If you have to change it to off, please don't forget to hit Apply also. After changing the setting, I would also suggest a restart. Thanks.

Thank you for your replies.

Seems to me that if a dialog box has a checkbox labeled "Don't show this again", and I check it, and it still keeps coming up, then that is what we call a bug.

That being the case, I would like to open a support case so the software engineers can fix it.

I should not have to go into Settings (this setting, by the way, is not available to non-administrators, which is what our users are), nor should I have to worry whether the Norton engine is getting updated.

It is a bug, and a rather obvious and annoying one at that. If the software engineers care about the usability of their software, then there is really only one thing to do.

Fix it.

What avjohnnie said worked for me.

So yeah, I'm having the same issue. Outlook 2013, Norton Security 22.5.2.15, Windows 10 Pro x64. Maybe it's because I'm using normal account (non-admin) and can't even go to the AntiSpam section of Norton settings? Logging in to the admin account and changing the setting made it stop. Thanks.

I'll see what I can do about it with Norton. Please stand by, but no possible action before Monday most likely at the soonest. So you better sit down rather than standing by.  Thanks.

EDIT: In the meantime, can you please give the pertinent information like: Operating System and service pack, Norton product and Version Number, Outlook Version, Single Account, Multiple Account.? Having this information should help to get a fix sooner. Thanks again.

This is happening on multiple (although not all) PC's, multiple Windows accounts.

I have two PCs and both have this issue. Both have one admin account that I only use to install software etc, and one normal user account that is the one that I use and has this issue. Once I login to the admin account and disable the welcome screen the problem is gone on the normal user account.​

After I logged in as admin I was able to turn off the welcome screen.  It also stopped the "video tour" popup when I open up Nortons.  Thanks

Still happening to me: "Welcome to Norton Anti-Spam" pop-up comes up every time I start Outlook. Yes, I have checked the box [x] Do not show this again.

The 'fix' suggested above does not work for me because, even when running the Norton application as Admin, the Anit-Spam feature is grayed-out, so I cannot do anything with it.

The anti-spam also does not appear to be working at all, but that is not surprising since the Anti-Spam feature is grayed-out in the configuration window.
