Norton Antivirus Can't Turn On

I recently bought a new windows 8 PC with half a year of norton antivirus installed. It had been working great but I noticed a few days ago that the green check that is normally by the icon in the lower right turned into a red X. I opened up Norton and noticed that my Antivirus, Sonar Protection, and Email Protections are all turned off. When I click the Fix Now button, it simply says that it is Not Fixed, and these three items remain turned off. Furthermore, if I try and scan my system, I get an error, and Norton tells me that my product is not activated. If I go to advanced settings and try to switch the antivirus on, it simply does nothing. I have tried scanning my system with MalwareBytes, and nothing turned up. Does anyone know what might be wrong?

check the date on your computer. Exactly how many days does it say are left?

Re: Norton Antivirus Can't Turn On

Norton Antivirus says that I have 150 days left in my subscription.

And the date on my computer is 1/1/2013.

Re: Norton Antivirus Can't Turn On

thank you.

From the main UI can you click support/get support, this should run a diagnostic.

Thanks, I tried the support, and when the diagnostic ran it said that there are no issues with Norton Internet Security, but my antivirus, sonar protection and email protection remain turned off.

In that case, I can only suggest an uninstall, download and run Norton Removal Tool, reboot, and reinstall. Then run liveupdate until no further updates are available.

The latest download of NIS would be www.norton.com/nis20

You are advised to take backups of your Vault and it is possible that you may have to use cloud vault in the future, if local vault becomes unavailable.
