Norton Backup crashes at random

Backing up a laptop running Windows 7 (hey, it works) to a Network Attached Storage drive on my home network.  Backup makes it to anywhere between 9% and 21% then crashes.  I get a cryptic message that there has been a problem with Norton, then it closes Norton down. I have tried connecting the laptop directly to the NAS (vs. using wireless), but the crashes continue.

I rarely use the laptop, and I had to an update to Norton that required me to download the newest version, then uninstall/reinstall.  Still crashes.

Hi @Zarba,

Thanks for reporting in Norton Community Forums. Can you please let us know the Norton Security Installed version on your computer?

And  I did a remote session with Support.. and still bombs out.

They did a  very small backup set,and when that worked, he said it was good to go with a big backup set. Of course not.

Re: Norton Backup crashes at random

Are you using the computer when the backups are running?

What are you backing up?

Has this just started happening? ie Has the backup worked correctly in the past?

How much room is available on the NAS?

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.
