Norton Backup & deleted files.
Norton shoud automatically delete files from backup set if it was also removed from user's PC. There is no need to leave this files in backup because it's just a waste of space there.

Wouldn't that kind of defeat the purpose of backing files up? If you accidentally deleted a file or a malicious program deleted files from your system and Norton automatically followed suit, you'd have no way to restore them?
I don't use back-up but, I believe you can delete files from the back-up sets if your sure you'll no longer need them. Please see this support doc
