Norton blocks HP printer WMIPRVSE breaks intenet connection
In case it explains everything I am running Windows 10 on a 64 bit Dell laptop.
Internet Explorer (vsn 11.0.28 ) occasionally errs with This page can’t be displayed, and although other devices on the LAN are ok, the laptop must be rebooted to regain internet access. I trace this problem back to installing Windows 10 and the dozens of uninstalls, driver downloads and reboots I had to do to restore all the scanning and printing functions of my HP Photosmart 2610 All-In-One. I have the HP installed both to the local network via a router port and directly via usb to the Windows laptop. I think I got rid of a pesky obsolete HP Photoessentials trying to install on every reboot, but I suspect some interaction with the HP Printer is at the heart of the problem. Although not able reproduce a failure on demand, it seems that when I print from an Apple device over the network, I lose Internet Explorer's Internet connection on the PC. Chrome can be effected too, but seems less vulnerable. I tend to trouble shoot encountering the error by refreshing http://tycho.usno.navy.mil/timer.html. I don't use Edge because it is spyware and not compatible with Norton Identity Safe.
IE's interactions with Norton ID safe are sluggish and Norton history shows that it is very busy blocking Unauthorized access from C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\WBEM\WMIPRVSE.exe when it Targets: Norton Security with Backup\Engine. I have seen blogs linking the HP drivers to these false intrusions. Now that we've had confirmation of Einstein's Gravitational Waves, can anyone help with this?
