NORTON IS BORKING AUSLOGICS DISK DEFRAG

Whilst on holiday in France, my laptop (which has AVG AntiVirus) has declared that the disk defrag program executable (latest version) was a Trojan. Now I am back home, I find that Norton Security is doing the same thing - and therefore probably many other anti-virus products are as well. Now I have been using this program for several weeks and never had a problem. This issue has only raised itself during the last week.

Anybody know what has been screwed up?

Andrew Do I understand correctly that you have AVG & Norton running on the same computer?

Cheers

Re: NORTON IS BORKING AUSLOGICS DISK DEFRAG

FYI:

AVG has been bought by another company. Their 2016 version was ok (aside from the annoying toolbar - hijacking your homepage and search, closing your browsers without warning to update the toolbar, showing popup ads for junky computer "cleanup" tools).

Now all links to the 2016 version are gone (their forum has been crippled for years) and there is a new 2017 version, it has all the problems of the old version except now it doesn't reliably detect viruses that are already in it's database nor reliably remove them, there is no quarantine, and logging of detections and removals are pitiful to non-existent.

As for auslogics, my opinion is already in the other thread.
