Norton Core and web/browser interface

Core is exactly what I've been hoping for with one exception. It needs to have a web/browser interface via Ethernet.  Having just a phone app is a showstopper. Since it won't be available until "Summer" there's time to add the more secure interface.

Re: Norton Core and web/browser interface

Hi @garlen,

Norton Core can be configured only through the mobile app, as of now. It has been designed this way for security and usability reasons.

Thank you for your feedback. We really appreciate it.

Re: Norton Core and web/browser interface

It's not safe to assume that all users will want to - or even be able to - use a BLE smartphone or tablet to configure and monitor a WiFi router.

While I understand the need to provide a BLE interface for those without an Ethernet device in the iot world, this is not as/more secure than an Ethernet interface.

As for usability, again I understand the need in a connected world, but a laptop/desktop screen has to be better than a phone/tablet screen (particularly if you take accessibility into account).

To compete with other devices, the phone/tablet interface is necessary, but it should not preclude an Ethernet interface.

The Jurassic Park lesson should be applied here. Just because you can do something, doesn't mean you should.

The Core should provide both interfaces.

+1

With only a phone app configuration this is something I'm not interested in the slightest.

A little bit of knowledge is... well a little bit of knowledge.

Re: Norton Core and web/browser interface

Is the a mobile app for laptops? If not, you are saying that those people who don't have a smart phone or smart devise cannot configure their router.

Correct. For now.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.

Definitely needs a computer app.
