Norton Core End-of-Life announcement - UPDATE

We have decided to postpone the discontinuation of Norton Core until February 28th, 2022. We are still working with our partner on a special router replacement offer, which will be provided free of charge. We'll be providing more details about the offer in a separate email to you in the coming weeks.

Your Norton Core router will continue to function as a router until February 28th, 2022 and if you have an active Norton Core Security Plus subscription, we will also extend the subscription expiration to the same date at no cost to you.

Re: Norton Core End-of-Life announcement - UPDATE

Thanks for the update, however, I had removed the Android core app because I had to replace the core prior to the EOL date for burn in.  So I guess, since it is no longer on Google Play if we have pressed ahead we are done?

@tomas_he

So, those of us who have already moved on to a new router, will we also receive the router offered free of charge. Just getting some clarification.

Thanks for asking that SA. I'm sure that others have already had to move on as well.  Good devices are hard to find in stock and are priced higher due to shortages.

Re: Norton Core End-of-Life announcement - UPDATE

Yes indeed prices are going up vice down these days. I'm interested in what the "replacement free router" will be and obviously want that to replace Core. Although having moved on from Core and sucked up the costs involved with securing my network Norton may indeed come up with a replacement that shines in my eyes enough to add it into my network. Haven't gotten an email with that router offer as of today, will be standing by for it.

Re: Norton Core End-of-Life announcement - UPDATE

It has been hell trying to sort out a replacement, 5 chats and 2 Calls totalling @ 6 hours of wasted time to Norton Support.

I have been waiting for 8 days for a call back from Ireland to sort this out and still no call.

Then today whist online chat to Norton Support again, I saw this post.

There was no Email about end of life of the product, less than a month to sort out a replacement.

All I received was :-

Your monthly subscription has been canceled.

We have received and processed your cancellation request for your automatically renewing subscription. You can continue to use your service until it expires on January 15, 2022.

BTW - I sent no "cancellation request".

The customer service have been terrible! Which surprises me as I forked out for a Core and happily paid an expensive monthly subscription.

Huge supporter of Norton, maybe not so much now.

Re: Norton Core End-of-Life announcement - UPDATE

Well another call to Norton Support, what a waste of time. I was promised yesterday that my My Norton Core subscription would be working in the next 24 hours. Guess what, its not. They tried to sell me a Norton 360 Subscription even after I directed them to this page. Due to my Subscription to the Norton Core has expired they cannot renew it. I explained that this notice was posted on the 14th and my subscription expired on the 15th. I asked the Marshal from Norton Support if the Norton Core End-of-Life announcement - UPDATE was correct and he said yes but we can't do anything.

Finally Norton Support informed me I will get a phone call back. I have been waiting 10 days for the last call back. Will this occur?

Re: Norton Core End-of-Life announcement - UPDATE

Hi @Mr Vincent Cooke,

Support agent will not be able to manually extend your Norton Core Security Plus subscription, this will be done at the backend in the next few days. I have arranged a call-back for you today to assist you with the migration from Norton Core Security Plus to Norton 360 Platinum. If you do not want to migrate to Norton 360 Platinum and want to choose a different path for your security protection, let the Support agent know.

Re: Norton Core End-of-Life announcement - UPDATE

Thanks, all I want is the Norton Core Security Plus subscription working, and I don't mind waiting a few days.
