Norton should not be able to create any partitions on any drive. It may create folder(s).

What partition names are you seeing on your external drive?

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.

The partition names are "My Passport (I:)"

The folder N360_BACKUP was created on both drives. along with the files  Arestore.exe,  ARestore.loc and two files for the backup drive.

If you are seeing 2 drives in Windows Explorer with the same drive letter, it sounds like the same drive with 2 different entries in Explorer. Below is what I see when I insert the SD card from my camera. Both entries are for the same external drive.

If anything was creating an additional partition, you would have different drive letters assigned.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.

Re: Norton created two partition on backup drive, why?

Disk drives (both fixed as well as removable drives) appear under the “This PC” category in File Explorer navigation pane. In addition, each removable drive will be pinned as a separate category, appearing after “This PC” and “Libraries” section — that is, the drives appear twice in the navigation pane. This double-listing can sometimes cause confusion to the users. To remove the duplicate or redundant disk drives from navigation pane, here is a quick registry fix.

Does that mean when I see the same Norton backup files under the two “I” drives, they are the same set of files?
