After yesterday's fiasco with Norton DNS apparently not working, could someone explain the pros and cons of using the Norton DNS vs local ISP's DNS? I gather using the Norton DNS adds some kind of protection layers, which is why the product was purchased as opposed to using a local ISP DNS.
Yesterday's Norton problem obviously with their DNS caused a multitude of problems for users, and there was no way to change the Norton Core using smartphone to a different DNS. Only solution was using a different modem, which fortunately I already had from Frontier. Took quite a while to figure out that Norton was down, but fortunately didn't resort ot "resetting" the Norton Core, which didn't solve the problem, and only led to more wasted time to resetup the Core once Norton was working again.
