Norton Error Reporting Submission?

Hello. I recently upgraded NIS 2011 to NIS 2012 and since I have, I've been seeing a message in the security history that says "Norton Error Reporting Submission". What is this, and what information should I put in for anyone to figure out the severity of the situation?  Thanks!

Hi Caleb,

That sounds like NIS2012 calling home to report. If you are seeing nothing unusual and are not having any problems I'd just let the program keep in touch with home so the staff can use the data to improve the product.

No, I'm not seeing any significant problems with the program. The only thing that concerns me is under "Advanced details", it sometimes says "Severity : High" or "Critical". Is that bad?

The information is intended for the developers, not the users. As long as your status is green and secure, it is fine. If there problem that needs the users attention, you will be notified.

However, if you are really concerned, you can post a few messages here and someone from Symantec is usually quick to comment on them.

Re: Norton Error Reporting Submission?

As everyone commented so far, that is a backround task that runs on a schedule. We have a database on our end that keeps track of errors in the product. If everything is working and NIS is not showing you any error dialogs then you should be fine. Like caleb89sw said we can help you in the future if you do have problems.
