norton family alerts

I'm getting alerts regarding websites that my daughter supposedly tried to visit.

I was however helping her on her assignment on the computer during the time of the alert and couldn't have visited these

websites. (e.g. social networking site).

Also, what is comodoca3.com website?

Re: norton family alerts

Not sure about comodoca3.com, but comodo.com is an SSL certificate provider. Depending on where you saw this site referenced it could be that the ca3 address is one of their certificate authority servers, and some process (probably a browser on your PC) attempted to connect with that system. If it's just some address showing in your NOF logs, my guess is that it is harmless.

I have seen similar entries with my own kids when they visit certain sites (ESPN is a big one at my house). You think you're going to a single site, but there are so many embedded links and content streams that you're actually logging 15-20 hits just going to that site. The browser hides that from you, but at the network level that's what is happening. I suspect that NOF logs each of those network connection attempts, and some sites may have active links to social networking sites that operate the same way. Kind of a false positive if you will.

Hope this helps!
