Norton Family Alerts from UniFi Controller UPNP

I see several other posts where this was resolved but there is no solution provided. I have a Unifi Cloud Key on the network and am getting bombarded by alerts of kids laptops attempting to access http:/hostname:8080/upnp of my Cloud Key. I am unable to add http://hostname in the Norton Family portal as it says "invalid website" when I type that in. What is the fix for this? Thanks!

Re: Norton Family Alerts from UniFi Controller UPNP

Hi SandspurKW,

You can configure the URL as http://unifi:8080/upnp instead of having any customized URL. This is the generic URL of Unifi which we have already whitelisted.

Alternatively, you can try configuring your Unifi Cloud Key URL with a fully qualified domain name (FQDN).  For example, you could use http://hostname.<com/net>:8080/upnp eg: http://hostname.com:8080/upnp instead of http://hostname:8080/upnp. After making this change, add the fully qualified name (http://hostname.<com/net>:8080/upnp) in Norton Family house rules as an allowed website.

Thanks and Regards,

So I must change my Cloud Key's hostname to be unifi? What if I wanted to block access to items on a local network, are you saying I may only allow FQDNs?

Re: Norton Family Alerts from UniFi Controller UPNP

Hi SandspurKW,

Yes, please update your Cloud Key's hostname to be unifi. Once this is done, Norton Family Product will automatically ignore any requests from such URLS.
You don't have to add  http://unifi:8080/upnp to whitelisted websites in Norton Family Portal.

Any localhost websites if you can configure it to a proper FQDN URL then it can be whitelisted in Norton Family Portal.
