Norton Family being turned off

Hi,

I have a few PC's in a computer lab, where I am having constant problems over several months now of Norton Family being turned off. Such as:

  • The Norton Family monitoring is disconnected or off. Restart your child's device or its browser to resume monitoring.
  • Student's device hasn't reported any activity in 30 day/s. Check to make sure Norton Family hasn't been turned off.

My question is, are you interested in troubleshooting what might be causing this?

Are there any log files kept on the PC which you would like to see?

Because someone at this site knows how to turn off NF (no, we do not allow Admin access), and I thought you might be interested in investigating how.

Does this problem...

Getting false "Device has not reported any activity" emails

apply to PC's as well, or just phones?

Do you need any log files or debugging info from the PC?

The thread Getting false "Device has not reported any activity" emails is not applicable to windows.

With regard to the alerts (mentioned in the first post):

  • The Norton Family monitoring is disconnected or off. Restart your child's device or its browser to resume monitoring – This alert is sent when the browser extension gets disabled. Can you also confirm if browser extensions are enabled on all supported browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer)?
  • Student's device hasn't reported any activity in 30 day/s. Check to make sure Norton Family hasn't been turned off – This alert is sent when the machine is in unused state for 7days. Can you please confirm if machines are in locked state or unused for more than 7 days?

If you continue to see these alerts even after checking the above steps, kindly revert back to us.  We can further troubleshoot on your machine via remote session.
