Norton family does not block porn pop up sites on android

Hi there I have installed Norton Family on my sons android phone. When I launch Google and I type the word porn, it returns a number of porn sites if you click on one of these, it attempts to launch the website but then takes you to another web browser which then indicates that it is a blocked website . However from the original Google search a pop-up is launched as well which does not get blocked via the Norton Family app and shows the full website anyway . This is very disappointing and unacceptable, I have the Norton family app to avoid these specific situations can you please advise how this can be rectified.

Hi

Have you received an answer to your question yet? I am also curious to the answer for this.

Thanks!

Unfortunately not, very poor, you’d think a norton moderator might reply, but no.

Yes that is unfortunate, especially with something like this! If I were you, I would repost your question again. That’s what I have done when I don’t get an answer and then I usually will get my answer. I’ve seen that they responded to many questions after this one, so this question has just moved down further on the list. I think your best bet is just to repost it again. I will be watching because I’d love to know the answer for this.

Re: Norton family does not block porn pop up sites on android

Hi Hazza,

We are sorry for the delay in response. We filter searches only in Norton Family and Chrome browsers.
We recommend to block all other browsers and content-searchable apps like Google app (please note that this may also be the launcher app in a few device models, then we will not make it available for app blocking for obvious reasons).

Can you kindly update to the latest version, then visit House Rules->App Supervision and verify if Google app is available for blocking in your child’s device?

Thanks and regards,
Norton Family team
