The norton family is not working on my child's computer since April. Is your system doing ok?
Please make sure the Norton Family program is installed and configured correctly on the PC.
1. Do you see a pop-up message at lower right hand corner saying you are being monitored after you log onto your PC as the child?
2. If you log onto the PC as the monitored child and try to access a forbidden website, do you get blocked?
To avoid and limit the possibility to tamper/disable the system, please give non-administrative rights (limited or restricted) to your child’s user account and keep the password for your Norton Online Family account away from the child.
Please check out the link below to reinstall Norton Family to see if that resolve the issue.
How can it be tampered with?
I checked the search and web, there was no indication that there was an attempt to tamperer with it, how could this go undetected?
5/16/15 11:36 AM : The device has not reported any activity in the last two weeks. Please go to the device and check the Norton Family to make sure that it has not been disabled or uninstalled.
4/22/15 9:33 PM : Device Time was changed
It seems like the time was changed by changing the time zone and adding an additional clock.
You will really need to lock this in Norton Family.
Theree is also a possibility to change the user in the google chrome by using guest mode or a different account.
I think Norton Family may not be as effective as it is as there is too many system flaws.
I hope your engineers can relook into the whole system, find the flaws and stamp it.
Especially at the windows desktop
And the fact that google keeps updating their chrome and the system change
Thanks for the valuable feedback. First of all, I want to make sure the Norton Family program has started running on the PC. If not, have you tried to re-install Norton Family on the device by following the instructions in my previous post?
As I mentioned earlier, please give non-administrative rights (limited or restricted) to your child’s user account. Otherwise, a child can just create a new Windows account that is not associated with any profiles in Norton Family online account. If a child logs onto the PC with the account, the child won't be monitored.
As for the "google chrome by using guest mode" that you mentioned, Norton Family monitors chrome in guest mode on PC.
The child seems to be watching Youtube freely without any supervision. I blocked it under norton family but he seems to still be able to access it. I cannot even monitor his Youtube.
I checked the account name and it seems to be under the current account.
Can your engineering check with the time changing flaw? It seems that it has tampered with the whole system.
I need your remote assistance about about 6 hours everyday from the current time.
We need to fix this.
Also can your engineers fix the fact that if you click the youtube.com link many times then it will finally open?
I checked his accounts again, it seems like there is no new account. It's the same account.
It seems that ever since the time has changed, the whole norton family system went haywire.
I need a remote assistance about 6 hours from now everyday. Because that's the only time I'm free
Can you please answer the two questions I mentioned earlier, so I can tell the program is installed and configured correctly?
I have the same problem here .. despite being blocked under Norton Family !!! I don't know why it's like that.
Please check the thread you posted with same issue at https://community.norton.com/en/forums/nf-stop-monitoring-my-child-computer for updates.
