Norton Family not working as expected

Hi,

I am having issues with Norton family.

I installed Norton Family on my son's phone to monitor activity and block certain categories.

However, my weekly report says there was no activity on my son's phone (that would be a miracle) and the categories that I blocked are still accessible.

My PC uses Windows 10 64bit.

Thanks

Re: Norton Family not working as expected

Hi @JulieR,

Can you confirm if your child is using a Huawei device? Our app is sometimes optimized and cleaned by the OS in Huawei devices due to Battery optimization. Can you kindly try to locate Settings->Battery Manager (or Power Saving option, it varies from device to device) and add Norton Family as a protected app/power-intensive app (depending on the name of the setting). Once you have done this, you can block Settings app (starting with v4.8.2) to prevent your child from undoing this.

Also kindly ensure that you can turn off Phone Manager->Power saving->Ultra Battery Saver mode.

Thanks and regards,
Norton Family team

Re: Norton Family not working as expected

Hello,

Thank you for your reply.

Yes the child is using a Huawei device.

I have added Norton Family as a protected app in Settings/AdvancedBattery Manager.

The Ultra Battery Saver mode can only be enabled in Shortcuts.  It is not enabled.  There is no  Phone Manager->Power saving->Ultra Battery Saver path that I can find.

I still have the same problem, the categories are still not blocked.

Kind regards

Julie

Re: Norton Family not working as expected

Hi @JulieR,

Which browser are you testing the websites? If it is Chrome, did websites configured for blocking actually get blocked? Hope you relaunched the Norton Family app after whitelisting the app. If the problem persists with Chrome browser, you can consider blocking Chrome app under App Supervision rules and make Norton Family the default browser.

Thanks and regards,
