Norton Family Parental Controls on ipad without Profile

Hi,

I've installed Norton Family Parental Controls on my daughter's iPad that she uses for school.

Previously, she could use the Norton browser to go on the web but now the app is forcing her to install a profile to use it which she cannot do as the ipad is managed by her school which has its own profile installed. This change must have occurred in an update.

Has anybody else had this problem ? Can Norton make a change to allow the app/browser to be used without an installed profile as before ? I would accept that without the profile some features can't be used but most could before this update. At the moment, she can't access the internet at all unless I re-enable Safari.

Thanks,

Chris

Re: Norton Family Parental Controls on ipad without Profile

Hi Chris,

With the latest update, profile installation is mandated before the Norton browser could be used. Profile is essential for Instant Lock and upcoming new features from Norton Family to work.

Understand that the device already has a school profile in it. Would you be okay to not have the profile and it's associated features?

Thanks

Re: Norton Family Parental Controls on ipad without Profile

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

Unfortunately we can't remove the school profile from the ipad as it is needed for certain apps that the school provides. It would be really good if the Norton app could be used as it was previously without the profile installation. I'd be happy to not have access to some features. What it did before was adequate but, as I said, now it is not useable at all.

Regards,

Chris
