Norton Family Time Supervision issues - iOS

Time Supervision for iOS seemed to be working by blocking apps (i.e. the Apps would disappear from my daughter's iPhone) at *approximately* the designated block time and reappear *approximately* at the unblock time until about a week ago.  I'm using the 15-18 settings that block during the week from 10pm-6am.  On weekends, I extended the hours until midnight from 11pm.  However, my daughter is telling me her apps are not reappearing in the morning or may lag from appearing until hours after the unblock time.

Needless to say, this is causing much animosity in our relations.  Did something change / does software need to be updated?

Thanks,

Reily

Hi Reily,

Trying to gather more details to assist you better

  • Do you observe this issue lately? or was it during April month?
  • Also please check the timezone in Parents tab of Norton Family portal to ensure correctness.
  • Please suggest why is it approximate and how much was the delay?
  • Please also check if the child's internet is not turned off during lock/unlock.
  • Please enable time supervision to continue using the feature and let us know if you see an issue.

Thanks!

Re: Norton Family Time Supervision issues - iOS

I am seeing the same problem on my son's iphone 7.  I even have the same time restriction settings.  His apps disappeared last night at 10PM local time and still have not reappeared and it is almost 1PM local time.

I reinstalled the Norton app and management profile last night, so I have the latest software installed.

Re: Norton Family Time Supervision issues - iOS

Hi Nathan,

From our analysis, it looks like that child's device was not connected to the internet during the unlock period. Could you please make sure that the device is connected to the internet and time supervision is "on"? Please let us know if you still face any problem.

Thanks!

Re: Norton Family Time Supervision issues - iOS

His device was connected to the internet with time supervision on at the time I reported the issue.

I turned off time supervision on the device completely and had him restart his phone.  The apps still did not reappear.

I had to completely remove and reinstall the Norton Family software and management profile and keep time supervision disabled for his device to return to normal.

I am not going to enable time supervision again until the school year is concluded because this issue is too disruptive to his school work.
