Norton Faminly on android ca be removed with out password

Here is how it is done.

Go to security settings >device admins

uncheck norton family follow prompts till it askes for password. don't enter anything.

go back to device admin setting it is now unchecked

then just uninstall.

This will generate an email alert. which is all well and good if i have my email alerting of each new email. or setting up some way to get alerts just for this app/program/service. I'm savvy enough to do any of the above. I think there should be a better way to prevent this in the first place. Another solution is to get text alerts as well as email alerts. The reason for the text and email alerts would serve as a back up to each other if you miss one or you phone don't get email, yes there are still simple phone users out there. The issue with delayed notification is the exposure to unathorized content/apps or unathorized over all use of the device, depending on the settings.

You need to create a user account for each child and then they login with each of their accounts. Doing it this was will prevent them uninstalling as they are just regular users and so cannot remove norton.

Re: Norton Faminly on android ca be removed with out password

Hi rachuff,

Can you please let us know the Android version you are using?  If the Android version is prior to 5.0 (like 4.3, 4.4), then this issue has been corrected and will be available in our next release. If the Android version is 5.0 or later, we are working on the issue.

Thanks

Katie
