Norton Identity Safe in Firefox NOT working, after LiveUpdates

Done two LiveUpdates with restarts, and Firefox 49.0.1 now has Norton Tool Bar, and Norton Identity Safe version 1.1.54, but Identify Safe is dimmed, shown with Disable button and a Remove button on the AddOns page.  Is this currently normal to be expected until ID Safe is finished being developed?  Tool Bar is apparently enabled, so I see the Norton Search tool, Page is Secure tool, and the three-dots tool.  Up above in the toolbar of the browser is the ID Safe icon and it is dimmed.

So HOW can ID Safe be made enabled?  Why the Disable button shown in the AddOns page if it is already disabled?

Machine is Windows Vista O.S.  Still with Local Vault, in case this is of any use, and I want to STAY with LOCAL Vault.

The extension is not disabled. The icon is just grey. Maybe a poor choice.

The new FF extension only works with an online vault.  My 2 cents is that we will no longer see any support for local vaults in any new code from Norton.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.

When Norton Identity Safe Online is open(readable) in memory user-side is database open(readable) in memory cloud side.   Does Norton IDSafe have user-side In-Memory protection.

bjm_, I really do not understand what you said here.  peterweb, again seems to indicate we are to expect further development but it's not very pleasant.

Just question <<When Norton Identity Safe Online is open(readable) in memory user-side is database open(readable) in memory cloud side.   Does Norton IDSafe have user-side In-Memory protection.>> to users familiar with Online vault as I'm not.

Are you asking of there is some local caching of the logins from an online vault? I believe there is, for performance reasons, but have no way of testing this. If you disable internet, you do not need ID Safe...

How else can we interpret the description of the extension. "Early Adopter" release. Hopefully the further development will allow all the features from the older Toolbar version. ie editing.

When Vault is closed.  Data is encrypted.   When Vault is open.  Data is not-encrypted.
1) When Norton Identity Safe Online is open(readable) in memory user-side is database open(readable) in memory cloud side.
2) Does Norton IDSafe Online have user-side In-Memory protection.

If you disable internet, you do not need ID Safe...

KeePass keeps passwords encrypted in memory except for brief periods where they are being used, overwrites them with zeros when not needed at all.  In-Memory Passwords Protection: Your passwords are encrypted while KeePass is running, so even when the operating system caches the KeePass process to disk, this wouldn't reveal your passwords anyway.
FWIW ~ KeePass offers info re KeePass security > http://keepass.info/help/base/security.html

I've asked for info a few times over the years re Norton IDSafe security.  IDK.
Agree, have no way of testing.  Still, I'd like to read info re Norton IDSafe security.
Other than > no ones knows my password and decrypt is local.
