Norton Identity Safe Toolbar Problem in Chrome

There is a problem of Norton Identity Safe Toolbar in Google Chrome.

When the toolbar is configured to display, the bottom of any webpage will be hid by the Windows Taskbar. As the picture shows below:

However, If I choose not to display the toolbar, everything is fine except that I may not inspect whether the webpage I am viewing is safe or not in a simple manner( see the icon on the toolbar). As the pic shows below:

The problem is NOT in IE which I barely use.

Anybody can tell me how to solve the problem?

All my THANKS will go to you!

Re: Norton Identity Safe Toolbar Problem in Chrome

I'm not really sure I can help at this point, except to say you're not alone on this. I run Chrome all the time and I occasionally have this problem, although not much. I never remove the toolbar. The bottom of some web pages will indeed be cut off. When I first started using Chrome, that was one of the first things I noticed. Most of the time the bottom of the web page(s) come back into view, at least for me.

I'm listing my operating system, etc. because sometimes what's happening to some, isn't always happening to others.

Wish I could help more.

Re: Norton Identity Safe Toolbar Problem in Chrome

Some added thoughts to my last post. I have an uncle who uses Chrome like many of us do. Except he doesn't use a Norton Security product. He uses another. That being said, he also has the occasional problem mentioned, but like myself, not very much. That makes a person think, maybe this is a Chrome issue. Everything can't be Norton's fault when it comes to the Chrome browser. I love Chrome. I use it 90% of the time. It does have a few issues of it's own though.

And no, I am not a Symantec employee. Just a regular Norton product user like everyone else here.

Re: Norton Identity Safe Toolbar Problem in Chrome

Hello Edjr60,

I've tested, in my situation, as long as the toolbar is on, the bottom of webpage is gone. ( And to clarify, I have never removed or uninstalled the toolbar, just hide it from display by clicking the X on the left-most of the toolbar.)

And I tried stable version of Chorme, the same happened.

But I do do not sure which product should I blame, Norton or Chrome.

Re: Norton Identity Safe Toolbar Problem in Chrome

Hi Iyovse.

I use chrome and every time I click on the Norton tick symbol at the top, which calls up the Norton toolbar, then a bit of my window vanishes at the bottom and the horizontal slider can vanish  below the bottom line.  However if I close the toolbar then it comes back.  A resize of the window (eg go to full screen and back to a window size, or vice versa) resets the screen with or without the toolbar.  So I don't find it a great problem.

As for whose fault it is.....possibly a bit of both but as it is the Chrome browser and Norton is new to support of Chrome you are more likely to see Norton rectifying this, if anyone does.

So my feeling is - it would be nice if Norton fixed it but I don't see it as very important just a bit annoying.  You however may see it differently.

Yes, Andmike.

I forgot to mention, a resize of window does work, I used to do that. But now I'd rather hide it.

Hope someday, one of them would fix this bug. Really annoying.

Thank you .
