Norton IDSafe homepage button when IDSafe disabled

I have IDSafe turned off since there's no local vault (with clean install).

But the IDSafe homepage button is still there in the Norton Toolbar in all supported browsers (IE, Firefox, Chrome)

Is it a bug or is it by design?

NIS: 20.1.1.2 OS: Win7 SP1 32bit, Browsers: IE9, FF15, Chrome 22

Any news on this, Symantec?

Hi tbalint444444,

Just to confirm, are you upset that the Identity Safe button still appears in the toolbar, even though you disabled it? Or are you saying that, despite disabling Identity Safe, it's still autofilling sites? if the latter, that would be a bug. If the former, that's by design.

Hi Tony,

It doesn't fill sites, so that's by design, thanks for the info. (I just don't understand why it's still there since I don't have a cloud account) To be honest: I'm upset because IDSafe has no local vault with clean install (which was a very valuable feature - at least for me) and that's why I have Idsafe disabled.

I understand. I'm sorry you're upset, but I'm glad I was able to sort it out for you. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks.

Thanks again for the clarification. I hope the local vault will come back in a future update. (When this will happen, I will immediately start using IDSafe again)

Hi Tony,

Just wanted to let you know that: Though I'm not happy with the decisions that were made to the Norton Toolbar (idsafe, share button), I really like the AV, Firewall and Anti-Spam parts of NIS and that's why I am a Norton customer since 2006.
