Norton Internet Security 22.8.1.14 cannot exclude .exe files from being removed

I have downloaded a game which I am sure is safe and every time I extract it with WinRAR, the .exe file keeps getting removed from my computer by NIS 22.8.1.14 and I am not sure how to prevent it. Please help immediately.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Where did you download the game from? Why is the game in an RAR format? Sounds suspicious to me. You can upload the file to Virustotal to check the integrity of the file. Post the results back here.

Hello

What is the game? Is it for pc's or for cell phones? Is it the full game or are you referring to a Mod for the game? Have you checked the Forum for the game's maker? Does the game require a key and if so, did the key come with the game or in an email from the creator's of the game?

Thanks.

90% of pc games are downloaded via Steam. Sounds to me like you downloaded a game which contained a keygen to crack the license code.

The game is a PC game known as Buddyfight area. It is a fan simulator of a card game. When you download the file and extract is with WinRAR, many files such as the card sprites and accessories appear along with the game it self, which is the .exe file. I have played this many times and everytime a new update is made I have to re-download it and Norton removes it .exe file. But after a couple of days of the download, norton doesn't remove it but that is not the case this time.

If you know the game is safe then you can simply add it to the exclusions. If Norton quarantined something then you can go into Norton history and restore then exclude it. You can make a folder and extract the files into there then tell Norton to ignore that folder.
