Norton Internet shown as a trial in Manage your Norton Products

Hi

I purchased a  Norton Internet key when my NIS expired.

I have installed it on my PC my android phone and tablet.I have also installed it on my son and daughters laptops as I can install it on 5 devices.

When I go to Manage Norton both my son and daughters laptops are shown in red as "trial" all the others show the Norton key can anyone tell me why?

I have tried searching without any luck

thanks

Re: Norton Internet shown as a trial in Manage your Norton Products

hi Clickhead

The information in the Norton Account sometimes takes time to catch up and often needs the laptops to be logged out/in and another visit to the Norton Account for it to show the correct information.

Additionally Remote Management needs to be turned on in each of the laptops sometimes on renewal it is turned off I believe it is set as off as default on new installations.

It would be good to check that Remote Management is turned on which can be accessed from the main Norton windows by clicking Settings>Administrative Settings where you will see Remote Management. If already turned on perhaps turn it off restart the laptop, then turn it back on with another restart may help to kick start the information being sent to Norton Management.

The laptops will then need to be restarted at some stage.

Norton are at the moment investigating how they can improve the information gathering and steps to rename devices which they hope will show an improvement in the near future.

Re: Norton Internet shown as a trial in Manage your Norton Products

Hi Michael

Thanks for taking the time to reply.I have tried as you suggested but it hasn't made any difference unfortunately.

I added it to my son's laptop two weeks ago so I would have thought that was time enough.

My main concern is that as they are marked as "trial" they will become inactive after a while.

I suppose I will have to wait and see.

Thanks again

hi Colin

Have your son and daughter tried clicking on Subscription Status from Help on the main Norton window, it may help to kick-start matters with the Norton Account.

Hi Colin

What is shown on the main Norton screen on your son's and daughter's computers for the subscription status?

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.

Re: Norton Internet shown as a trial in Manage your Norton Products

Hello Colin

Have your son and daughter actually enter in the key into the main program on the bottom where it says renew or subscription. If it says subscription on the bottom, then you will know it is a trial and then you would have to add the key to the trial.

If you continue to have difficulty with it still saying trial, then you can have a chat with customer support since they are the ones who take care of subscription and registrations.

.Please contact the free chat program by using this link.

Please come back and let us know how you made out.

Thanks

Hi floplot and peterweb

Thanks for your reply .Looking at the main screen I see SUBSCRIPTION STATUS: 340 Days remaining if that's what you mean.

I can't check the status using "manage your Norton " on my PC  as that has been showing "an error occurred please try later"  every time I have tried  since last evening.

thanks

Hi clickhead,

If I may add something, be sure that both your daughter's and son's systems has the Settings > Administrative Settings > Remote Management  turned ON.  Don't forget the Apply.

Re: Norton Internet shown as a trial in Manage your Norton Products

Hi Yank and thank you ..remote management is set to on in the settings of both machines. At this time I still cannot "manage" any of the five items that I have loaded NS on to.

I am constantly told "there is an error please try again later" I have no idea as to whether or not that is another problem peculiar to just myself it's been the same now for two days.

I do realise not all things work at all times and things do go wrong but I also think that I paid money for something that does not seem to work as promised.

Should I really have to enter forums and involve willing guys such as yourselves in finding an answer?

Maybe next time renewal comes up I should research an alternative instead of jumping straight in and renewing NS.

Many thanks all of you for your help it is really appreciated.

Colin
