Norton Management

I received a notification that the protection was stopped (trial version), I restored it through my account. When the protection was stopped, I do not know the banner appeared when I was working. I understand that the Norton business is now under politics, I understand that many are sincerely ill with Russophobia. Under these circumstances, I cannot trust Norton to protect my money and interests. Business always depends on politics, but when politics through business comes to the average user, this is very bad. Events in the world are happening very quickly now. Think about how Norton will protect your money and interests if China wins and other phobias appear (highly likely)? Depending on the political conjuncture and the mood of the people (there will be more of them in China), a precedent has been created.

Re: Norton Management

Do you leave you computer turned off for any extended time? If your computer does not connect with the Norton subscription servers for more than a week, the product will require you to connect to those servers again to confirm your subscription status.

Others have seen this message, including myself, for a long time now. Nothing to do with politics.

Re: Norton Management

Speaking technically: I work on the computer 5 days a week; if you need confirmation in your account, then a warning should appear at system startup, I don’t think that the time counter is up to hours and minutes; I repeat that in the process of work, a warning popped up about the trial copy and the lack of protection. Based on this (technically) this is a very poor defense, not predictable. Or is it some sort of Norton policy. But use this product - lose your money.

Re: Norton Management

Yes, and if Norton has a connection with my computer, and it does, and they suggest malicious actions, it's more reasonable to have a banner ad, as normal providers do. If we assume (which I won’t be surprised either) that I don’t remember my login and password, then this is such a money-saving Norton.

Re: Norton Management

If the notice popped up while you were working, I would suggest that that is when the issue started. You activated the product again, so you should really not have faced any loss of protection.

Your login is your email address, so I would hope you never forget that. And if you forget your password, there is a password reset link when you try to sign in.

Re: Norton Management

Sorry, but I have the impression that I am talking to a person who looks like Biden. Once again (I hope for the last time) I inform you: during my work (on the computer) a banner appeared that I had a trial copy of Norton installed, Norton protection was stopped, protection of my computer was transferred, in my case - to the defender, and you need to pay for use. I think you should know this banner. This is all. Nothing that I'm a Norton customer that I need to confirm anything, nothing. As for protection: if Norton believes that the protection of the defender is equivalent to Norton, then why pay Norton. You look at the statistics of Norton how much it reflects attacks and tell me: hackers can steal information from a computer in 15-20 minutes, infect the system or zombie if the protection is weak. Since this was unexpected (I trusted Norton for more than a dozen years, set it and forgot), at first I stupidly looked at it, then checked the payments, then looked for an account login, so the time passed. I don't want to repeat this.

Re: Norton Management

So are you just reporting what happened? I thought you were looking for help or an explanation of what happened.

As you mentioned, you are not unprotected when Norton popped up the message, as Windows Defender would have kicked in.

Why did your copy of Norton revert to an expired trial? I cannot be totally, sure, and others have reported the same popup. So you and the others were able to restore the subscription from your Norton Account, so things are working again.

I am just a user like you, trying to help others.

Re: Norton Management

'm glad that they switched to normal language. If you had written this right away, you wouldn’t have had to shake the airwaves or the Internet with unnecessary information. I wrote in order to hear (read) in response that Norton is working on this and this will not happen again. But nothing like that, nothing, zero. And if you are on the Norton forum as an ordinary user trying to personally help, then I'm sorry, this is a children's sandbox. I've read the appeals (shouts) of users about the work of Norton products, but in the desert. There is a high probability that something is going wrong with Norton. Bai, I was glad to communicate with you, there was some kind of competition.
