Norton message about a patch restart, then says Norton offline.

How do I fix this, or do I uninstall/reinstall my Norton?  It worked fine yesterday, until I ran an update. Now I get the message patch installed please restart computer. I did that but still will not open.  At one point it said error Norton 8504,101.  I no longer get the error message.  Just can't get Norton to run when I turn on my computer and go online. I am running on Windows 7.

Thanks

Janice

Re: Norton message about a patch restart, then says Norton offline.

Hi Janice,

It sounds like something has become corrupted.  I would download and run the Norton Remove and Reinstall Tool.  Be sure the read the "Before you begin" section first.  When your new copy of Norton is installed please run Live Update.  You will probably be given a choice to apply a new patch now or later.  I always choose later, then restart.  Keep running Live Update, restarting where required, until no more updates are found.

Hopefully that will sort things for you.  Please let us know how you get on.

Cheers,
Dave

I contacted support and they got Norton running again. I ended up with reinstall. Thanks for the help :)
