I thought I was carrying world best android phone.
I found a new about releasing this product. I searched on android market from my device, and I don't find it. Then I search it over browser, but you can see the result on attachment.
My device info:
Google Nexus S
Not quite sure what that "Google Nexus S (?)" means myself. Might it mean that it does not recognise "Google Nexus S" I regularly see the phone referred to as just the Nexus S or the Samsung Nexus S.
Have you succeeded in loading any other software this way onto your phone?
In which country are you based as this may account for why you do not see it on the Android Market via the phone?
I am not aware of any reason why NMS Lite should not work on your phone though Norton Staff may know differently. I believe that some people have successfully obtained a copy via Amazon.
Hope that helps. If not I will look out for your response.
I have this phone http://www.google.com/nexus/
I am from India.
I am able to install any other apps the way I show you in picture.
"Google Nexus S" is just a name I give in my android accout.
I see 4 apps when I search on website see here. But when I search it in market application I am only able to see rest of the three applications.
I am also an Android developer and I own a legal mobile, it is not cracked or something..
Is this a country specific? I don't think so.. otherwise it would have given a message like "app is not available for your country" like that...
Thanks for the response.
It may be country specific as I know that in some countries (I don't know which) Norton Mobile Security is not available via The Android Market over the phone. It is not even shown in The Market. It may be that by going online you are getting around the geographical limitations and this is allowing you to see the App but then when you try to download it is reacting to where you are. That however is just my guess and I think I have gone as far as I can in trying to help you. Sorry about that.
One last thing that you may like to say, to help anyone else come to your aid is - what actually happens after the screen displaying "Google Nexus S (?)"? Can you do anything or does it just show the line with the question mark and give you no ability other than to go back?
Rolling mouse over question mark, it says "This item cannot be installed on your device's country"
Are you makring it country specific or it is an issue from android market? When we publish an application it asks us to select country or select all country. Hope you have selected "all" option.
I use norton in my pc. I'd also like to use mobile app. This is why I keep on posting on this thread.
As you may have probably noticed Erik's spell checker seems to favour "could tries" over "countries". If you switch on for the other, I think you will find his previous message easier to understand.
That's what I get for typing fast on my Xoom. You are correct, "countries" was what I had tried to type.
Been trying for the past few days, the apps still not available for install in India. I wanted to purchase the full version.
I believe that some people have been able to get it via Amazon. You might like to try that if the Android Market is not working.
Using a retail channel might be the best method right now as Mike mentioned.
Thanks Guys, I did try via Amazon prior to posting here. Unfortunately if I run a search on the Amazon Appstore for Adroid, it turns up blank. This app isn't available. :-(
Guess I'll just have to settle for Lookout, though I really wanted this one cos of the call/sms blocking facility. Thanks for your help.
Hi, if you are referring to the below link it's an old discontinued product called Norton Smartphone Security. I tried again on Amazon by selecting "All Products" and I got the below link. Thanks for the efforts though :-)
FYI just logging a call with Norton Mobile Security support.

Could you please provide the model number for your Google Nexus S? We tried using a Nexus S, however, we were unable to reproduce the issue.
To get the model number:
- Select the Settings option
- Select About phone
- Select Phone identity
Thanks Rik. I have gone ahead and escalated this to double check our official list of supported countries. I will post that information once I receive it.
Unfortunately, after double checking, the list above is correct for now. We will definitely expand in the future, however, I have no information on when and what countries that will include.

Hi Jon, my 'lookout' trial expires in 2 more days, isn't there a way I can install this ? If not then I'd be forced to purchase Lookout instead of NMS.
Rik55 wrote:Sorry for all the trouble you're having. I think I was wrong about Amazon. I'm in the UK which is why it shows up for sale. I hadn't considered amazon has country restrictions. AndMike pointed this out to me.Hopefully it won't be long until it's available in India as Eric did say India has been selected. I wonder if Eric meant that India has been selected as part of a 2nd stage rollout. Don't loose hope. :-)
Rik is correct. Unfortunately I was looking at the wrong list when I saw India listed.
Hi Folks, thanks for your efforts to help. Just a quick update, I finally bought Lookout Premium which takes care of any malware and the security for the phone and I bought "root call blocker" which in turn takes care of blocking calls/SMS from unwanted numbers. Both the functions were available in Norton though, except I had issues with the installation.
