Norton needs fixing.

Every time I set up my MacBook Air .Norton starts up and tells me my Norton needs fixing, when I click on Fix now it performs a fix and shows me that one or more down loads have taken place .

I believe that some times the downloads where also downloaded the last time I switched on my MacBook Air but are downloaded again on switching my MacBook Air .

This has been going on for about too weeks now. Can you help you fix this!

Re: Norton needs fixing.

Sunil, it's happening to me as well.

I'm a tech professional so might be able to better assist.

I'm at version 7.9 w/ MacOS 10.13.6.

The last couple of versions have been completely broken.

They are constantly complaining about "needs fixing" you click fix, it finishes, then says it needs fixing again, and that is when the UI comes up at all - sometimes the UI stops coming up entirely and the only way to bring up Norton again is to reboot.  MacOS lists Norton Security as "not responding" at this point.

Tell me what you need to fix this product, I'm incredibly frustrated.

I have uninstalled Norton and reinstalled, and after reinstall it still has the same behavior.

Re: Norton needs fixing.

I am facing the same issue with High Sierra OS 10.13.6, but I think I started noticing this problem when I upgraded my CleanMyMac from version 3 to CleanMyMac X. Yesterday I disabled all the features in CleanMyMacX and re-installed Norton; will try for a week to see what happens. Have also reached out to CleanMyMac's support team to see if they have heard of any known issues when their product and Norton are installed on the same MacOS.

Re: Norton needs fixing.

I have the same problems as mentioned above, even after the removeSymantecfiles program and a new installation of the latest version, the message remains that Norton needs a fix, but that does not work, and Norton stops working...

MacOS High Sierra on Macbook Pro.

Re: Norton needs fixing.

I am having the same problem where I need to do a fix when I click "Fix it" and the Live Update starts, it appears to do an update, but it never finishes the update. Also, it does not sign in to my account. When I click "sign in", it then give some error that it cannot connect and I need to uninstall Norton.

I did uninstall, but the behavior is the same. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.  It is very frustrating and I am coming very close to dropping Norton and finding something else. I have a Mac Mini (late 2014) with Mac OS Mojave 10.14.

No problem. Have you managed to come up with a solution?

Re: Norton needs fixing.

Follow up to my previous comment: My latest Norton installation is working fine for the last two weeks after I disabled CleanMyMacX tool installed on my mac. Also, CleanMyMacX support team finally responded with this information - "This is a known issue that there are some issues with compatibility to Norton. Our tech team is now investigating the issue."

I guess I will keep CleanMyMacX disabled until they come up with a fix.
