Norton Password Manager Interface is changed on my new Windows 11

I have been using Norton's Password Manager for years, and happy with it - however, on my new Windows 11 PC, the user interface (appearance) has changed - it is now a "tile" appearance rather than the old "list" tyle appearance. There is still a list appearance available, but it is larger and spreadout. Is there any way of getting the "old" interface back? It looked WAY, WAY better. Finally, understanding that Norton has to cater to the masses (millions?) of users, but isn't it possible to get input / feedback on interface designs? Visual appearance is one area where Norton don't match competitors - function, sure but interface?? Nup.... visual nightmare! My two bob's worth!

If you are a existing Password Manager user with Local Vault, then you can currently access your Local Vault only from Norton Tool bar on IE browser.

However we recommend you to use Standalone Norton Password Manager extension with Cloud/Online Vault on supported browsers(Chrome/Firefox/Edge).

Please follow below Steps to migrate your Local Vault data to Standalone Norton Password Manager extension.

Step 1 - Click on "Norton Password Manager" Touch point from Norton Security Product

Step 2 - Below UI will be shown which will guide you to Export your Local Vault data in CSV format.

Post validating your Local Vault password, export your local vault data in CSV format.

Step 3 - Once you export your Local Vault data, If Chrome/Firefox/Edge is machines default browser then Install Password Manager extension on the same by clicking on "Install Password Manager Extension" button.

   > if IE is the machines default browser, then please change your default browser to any of the supported browsers (Chrome/Firefox/Edge)

Note - If Password Manager extension is already installed on the supported default browser then you can ignore this step

Step 4 - If Password Manager extension is already supported on machines default browser (Chrome/Firefox/Edge), then we will guide you to Import your exported Local Vault data (CSV file) into Standalone Norton Password Manager extension.

4.1 Click on "Import Your Passwords and Data" button from below UI

4.2 Sign in to your Norton Account from the Extension

4.3 Unlock or Setup your Cloud Vault

4.4 Import the exported CSV file of your Local Vault data to cotinue accessing your data from Norton Password Manager extension and cloud vault.

If you are a existing Online/Cloud vault user from the Norton Security Product UI then we had updated the below touch point to promote Standalone password manager extension since,

1. Microsoft has already ended support for older IE versions

2. IE11 browser is also planned to be ended soon

3. Win11 OS already does not support IE browser

4. We already have a Standalone Password Manager extension which has more features

Norton Password Manager cloud vault is stand-alone browser extension.
there are two boxes - one is tile format & the other box is list format

Maybe, you're referring to legacy Norton Password Manager with Norton Security/360.
Current Norton Password Manager is stand-alone browser extension.

I've noticed page zoom may need to be reduced.

Re: Norton Password Manager Interface is changed on my new Windows 11

I am aware of these two interface options, however neither is what I had been using previously. On my previous PC, using Windows 10, the interface was a "more delicate" list form. There is currently still the "list" option, but it is a much "bulkier" in appearance. It's all pretty much personal preference but to me the "tiled" appearance is just plain terrible, and the "list" interface appearance would be OK'ish if it were smaller - and by smaller, I mean more items in the list show as the default on screen. There is not that much to be shown on the screen, so shrink the whole thing (as a standard) so that more of my password entries can be viewed on each screen. Norton's experts have said that they couldn't resolve my question but that I should raise it on a blog and try and drum up support to get the "old" interface back. I hope others feel the same way.

Yes, legacy Norton Password Manager vault access is/was available thru Internet Explorer.
Since you're now Windows 11.
Norton Password Manager vault access is available thru stand-alone browser extension.

Since Nov 1 patch legacy Norton Password Manager vault access is only thru Internet Explorer.

Re: Norton Password Manager Interface is changed on my new Windows 11

Thank you bjm_ and sorry for the ongoing saga, and bordering on IT illiterate (hence my appreciation for Norton!) but could you advise, if I am currently using the Norton Password Manager on Chrome and make the change as you outline, will it in any way affect my ability to use Norton Password Manager from my iPhone? I would assume that they are completely different things, but confused me where you start talking about Local Vault and then Online / Cloud Vault. I can currently access my Password Manager from the PC and also from the iPhone - which I would like to continue. Sorry of I am coming across as a complete j**k... but this is outside my normal scope. Cheers and thank you, Piers

local vault = offline access
cloud vault = online access
Since, you can currently access your Norton Password Manager vault from PC - Chrome browser and iPhone ... sounds like you're accessing your cloud vault okay.

Get started with Norton Password Manager
Norton Password Manager helps you access, manage, and secure your passwords and personal information that you rely on for your online activities. Norton Password Manager keeps your passwords synchronized across different browsers and mobile devices.

Re: Norton Password Manager Interface is changed on my new Windows 11

Unless Norton makes any changes to the iOS version of the Norton Password Manager, NPM, app, there will be no change in how you access and use your NPM vault contents.

So if you now use the browser based extensions for NPM, any changes/updates you make to the vault contents will be saved to the cloud based vault. Next time you use NPM on your iOS device, those changes will be available to you.
