Norton phoned me about ID safe

Norton phoned me and said I can use IE or Chrome to use Identity safe, why should I when I have been with Firefox for years, they said it should take a few days or a couple of weeks, probably by the time we get it back Firefox wil have updated again and it still won't work

I agree with you...refund at least one month's (so far) subscription costs. ID Safe was?is very important to me and others.

I have also used FF for years but it's getting to be a pain with its 6 week update cycle.

The Norton ID Vault is very important to me also but I have been using IE 11 and it works fine.

Sometimes we have to move on and use what works now and wait on the FF fix.

You don't think people should be entitled to what they paid for and were led to believe they would be getting?  Rather a laid-back attitude.

I'm just glad I am using LastPass now - my Norton expires in 16 days and Kaspersky's looking good to me!

This is not philosophy, this is computer/internet use. Move on? I paid a lot of money for Norton 2016 Premier 360.

Would you pay cash for a car and then be told sorry it only comes with 3 tires and you can only use it on one way streets?

Re: Norton phoned me about ID safe

Firefox is the one that changed the rules and broke the Norton toolbar.

This happens all the time with software products that interact and it takes time to get the changes made.

I wish they had it fixed but I can live with my other choices until it is.

PhoneMan:

Respectfully, users complained about Norton Toolbar breaking Firefox for years.
Mozilla rules were changed to enhance the Firefox experience.
Chrome has been notably better at dealing with Chrome updates with respect to Norton Toolbar.
Hence, Firefox is aiming to be more in-line with Chrome.
Norton is aiming new Toolbar to be more in-line with Chrome.
Nothing to my thinking prohibited Norton from doing FF Toolbar re-build long before rules for FF changed.
I'm sure Norton is aware of Chrome market share.
Norton waited to be forced into change.
Only known to Norton why wait to be forced.

Re: Norton phoned me about ID safe

Hello

If Norton had rebuilt the Toolbar before version 40 from the bottom up, there would have been a delay getting the product done for version 40.  If they did it before the change took place, there might have been 2 delays to get it up to par for the current new type of build for Firefox..

Thanks.

Re: Norton phoned me about ID safe

I just found out from Norton Customer Service that Identity Safe will not be functional until December. That is totally unacceptable. What do you think the chances are of getting a refund? Slim to none. I am going with another product. I am through with Norton.

Re: Norton phoned me about ID safe

The money you are paying is for the subscription to the malware protections services. The ID Safe is an added feature that is available for free if you do not already have a Norton product. So chances of a refund are pretty slim.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.
