Norton pop up info driving me nuts

I am currently running Windows 8.1 and just renewed my Norton subscription last month. EVERY day - at least 3-4 times a day I get a notification that I need to reboot my computer so that Norton can finish clearing threats. And just about every day Norton tells me that I am infected with Trojan.Kotver.!gm2 and that not only do they need to FIX it but then I have to reboot. Am sick and tired of restarting my computer 3-4 times a day and obviously they haven't gotten rid of the Trojan. I don't do much surfing at all but instead check Yahoo and gmail email, use Facebook and work in Paint Shop Pro so it's not like I'm picking up viruses all over the place. H-E-L-P !!!  I've already chatted with Norton Support who wanted access to my computer but refused to give me an employee ID.

Re: Norton pop up info driving me nuts

Did a total computer scan and was advised to d/l Norton Clean Sweep.

Did that and it didn't work so now I get messages CONSTANTLY

saying that most of the problems have been resolved EXCEPT for

Trojan. Kotver.!gm. This was my original problem!  As I said - I've

spoken to a person at Live Chat who offered to go into my computer

and solve the problem BUT refused to give me an employee ID.

Now what's my next move??

You'll have case number assigned to you before chat session and you have chat session reference number and you may copy transcript of chat session.  Support case is documented by numbers.  Just make note of numbers and copy/paste transcript.

Re: Norton pop up info driving me nuts

While I appreciate your input you must also recognize the fact that a case # and a case reference # does one no good if this person is entering your computer in between Case and Reference. There is no reason on God's green earth why they would not give me an employee ID.  Sorry.... not trying to be argumentative but Norton says to do one thing and then another and nothing works. What exactly am I paying for at this point??

Re: Norton pop up info driving me nuts

I hear ya' and simply offered Virus Protection Promise as an option.  I do understand your reluctance for remote session.  Respectfully, I do not understand why case number and session reference number and representative name do not satisfy.   Besides, how would you verify "employee ID" offered upon your request.   Support case number and session reference number are generated by chat session program.  You may submit your concerns via Norton Product Suggestions &/or Norton Feedback
