norton power Eraser not picking up infected files on scan

Hi All,  my problem is i keep getting not responding when on msn +facebook run a MRST 4 infected files when scan is running when scan is finished says nothing found or removed, have run a few times and shows same result have, run all Norton scans, full scan removed 5 tracking cookie files but problem still remains ( freezes for about 20/30 seconds returns but keeps reoccurring also windows offline scan     Facebook was hacked just before Christmas don't know how, is my laptop damaged beyond repair. installed MB premium it to says no issues run for a month but have now uninstalled as i read to many virus packages dont work well, thanks for any advice or help any one can help me with  Regards STE 1
