Norton Power Eraser vs Topaz Labs Plugins

Why is it that Nortons still considers Topaz Labs plugins for Photoshop as threats? Please advise. Thank you.

For second opinion choose File and / or Search hash at VirusTotal and/or submit to Symantec for review analysis > see > How to report false positives

Thank you Norton Fighter, but this matter has even been brought to Symantec's attention, I think over a year ago, by Topaz Labs themselves. And I made my own inquiry to them quite some time ago but never got a response. It's like they just dropped the ball on this.

Which item <here>. Does Norton flag Topaz on download and or launch.  Sorry, I'm not familiar with Topaz.   > https://community.norton.com/en/forums/whos-charge

Re: Norton Power Eraser vs Topaz Labs Plugins

Topaz Labs is a highly respected and very popular provider of plugins for Adobe Photoshop and other photo editing software. I have had no problem running the plugins. It is when I run Norton's Power Eraser that all of these plugins come up as threats, some even as bad threats.

Whoa! Really? Then why am I paying for software I cannot trust? I am almost ready to renew. Maybe I should be looking at another product?

Re: Norton Power Eraser vs Topaz Labs Plugins

Norton Power Eraser uses our most aggressive scanning technology to eliminate threats that traditional virus scanning doesn’t always detect, so you can get your PC back. Because Norton Power Eraser is an aggressive virus removal tool, it may mark a legitimate program for removal. However, you can always undo the results of a scan. It can also help detect and remove Potentially Unwanted Programs.  For instructions on using Norton Power Eraser, see the tutorial
Norton Power Eraser uses aggressive methods to detect threats, and there is a risk that it can select some legitimate programs for removal. You should carefully review the scan results page before removing files.
