Norton rating for sites

How long should it take for a web site to be rated?  Two weeks?  That is absolutely ridiculous.  Especially when the site is SSL verified and secure even according to Norton.  Problem is, while they wait two weeks to rate you, they are immediately recommending you not give personal information.  Great job Norton.  That is a low hit from you.

Re: Norton rating for sites

Hello rjgilly

The process can go quickly if you follow the directions for registering your website and then entering the Meta Tag into the Source of your site. Of course I and the Safe Web Team have to be able to get into your website.

Please let me know when you have placed the Meta Tag in your site so that it can be seen. At that point after I see the Meta Tag, then I can submit it to the Safe Web Team so that ownership can be verified  and usually they will evaluate the site at the same time.

Btw, I haven't seen it take two weeks yet if directions are followed and if the website is clean and accessible.

Please follow instructions on this site for Safe Web Site problems.

If ownership has already been verified, then I can submit it now. So please let me know how far along you are in the 2 step process.

Thanks.

Re: Norton rating for sites

Hello rjgilly

I can get the Safe Web Team to verify & evaluate your site, but we have to be able to click on the site to get to the Source Code. I cannot do this until I can get to see the Source Code now. The site is stopping me from getting to it. The Safe Web Team is going to have to look at the site also.. Please let me know when you have turned off that notice.

Thanks.

Re: Norton rating for sites

It is very easy to do.  In IE or Firefox you simply press control+u and you see the page source.  That is all you need, right?  I have right click and text select disabled for a good reason.

Re: Norton rating for sites

Hello

Thank you. I didn't know that shortcut. I will use it from now on. I don't know what they will need to do to evaluate your site. If they will need to do something, I'm sure they will let you know.

I will notify the Safe Web Team that the Meta Tag is in place. Please stay tuned to this thread for a response from the Safe Web Team on Sunday night after midnight EST.

Thanks.
