Norton Remove and Reinstall did NOT make a clean reinstall

Win (10) Update keep on DL Defenders updates and, tries to install them resulting in ERROR message.

Probably caused by the below Registry post:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows Defender

Name                Type            Data
DisableAntiSpyware        REG_DWORD        0x00000000 (0)
DisableAntiVirus        REG_DWORD        0x00000000 (0)

Should be:

DisableAntiSpyware        REG_DWORD        0x00000001 (1)
DisableAntiVirus        REG_DWORD        0x00000001 (1)

But, when I try to "Modify.." (RegEdit) I'm not allowed to do that - Even as ADMINISTRATOR!?

How do I fix this manually - Anyone have a clue?

B.t.w. what is this (Registry):

RemediationExe            REGT_EXPAND_SZ        %ProgramFiles%\Windows Defender\MSASCui.exe?

Windows 10, 64 bit, Norton 360 Premier

Re: Norton Remove and Reinstall did NOT make a clean reinstall

Please make sure that your Remote Management is turned on.

Please uninstall N360P using the Norton Removal Tool using Windows Administrator Account.

www.norton.com/nrt  and restart.

Run Windows Defender until no more updates, then Turn off the program.

Reinstall N360p using the Download Button in your manage.norton.com Account. That will give you a pre-activated copy of your Norton program. Please remember to run Live Update, restarting as necessary, until no more updates are available and then restart one more time. Please make sure that Defender is turned off in Norton Services.

I would say it's safer trying to do it this way than messing around with the Registry and risk messing it up and then not be able to boot up.

Success always occurs in private and failure in full view. Windows 7 Pro 64 bit NSBU Core Firmware 282 I E 11 Chrome latest version.
