Hi there. This turned up, today. WHY !
This is a complete and utter waste of Norton Resources, funding the obvious. Norton would be better off keeping consumer costs down; by saving funds on this non-advertising.

Thanks for the feedback post ITMA. Why? I have not a clue since this. Is a new one that I haven't seen. YET lol!! Having a "score" could simply be a reminder we have license seats sitting unused to protect other devices. Conversely, we already know that. The choices are ours when and what to use them for after all.

Maybe they probed your network for devices and one of the data points they can get is what security software you are running, just like Os system running, browser etc. How else would they know the other devices are they and if they have Norton as the security software or not.
Multi tennant and not related connected to same network, but that's something Norton would not know from a probe with the other devices for example. Or other reasons it is not installed on those devices.

Norton isn't "probing" networks. I see "similar" messages on a regular basis and just ignore them. The message the OP posted I have not seen. Norton already knows how many device seats are in your subscription, thus, the regular reminders. Although they are annoying they are marketing driven, nothing we the consumer can do to change nor stop it. That is what the OP is talking about. Wasting resources with petty reminders when there are things that are broken in our products that should be getting those resources to correct.
