How do I add or delete a Quick Link on Norton Safe Search home page. Where can I edit the URLs?
I've just spent some online with tech support. After telling me how to set bookmarks in my browser they understood what I was actually asking. The Quick Links are defaults and cannot be changed or added to. Hopefully, if we suggest the change it will be addressed. As of now if people do not use these links they are useless.
I use some of the links, but like you I'd like to see the Quick Links editable, so that you can add or remove the links to your own preferences
You can add what you would like to see in a future product to the Suggested Products Forum. I'll get the link for you. Here is the link.
It annoys me that Amazon is non-removable.I don't want it there until they start paying the same tax as the rest of us in the UK.
Interesting. Perhaps they don't employ people on zero hours contracts in the US. Unfortunately, as you say, it's down to our government not to let companies pay taxes according to where their head office is, but to be assessed by how much business they do in this country. Amazon is a very efficient and user friendly company that is taking over many areas of commerce over here and we tax paying folk would like them to pay the same taxes as our high street shops so that they have a more even playing field.
Thanks for letting me know I can't edit these, I will go ahead and get rid of the extension and it serves me no significant purpose, and keep scanning for viruses after browsing the web and clearing cache and cookies. I believe the use of this extension should be extra and complimentary. Doesn't take away from the fact that I paid for the product like everybody else, and it needs to protect my system regardless of my activity. If I wanted to "be careful" of what I do in my computer, I wouldn't have an anti-virus to begin with.
Plus the "Ask" thing, what a pain.
I will probably use Chrome themes to add icons to the places I'd rather go to in my browser. Although not the best, I rather customize my web experience.
Perhaps you will find this KB as helpful
The actual solution is:There's no solution for (in summer 2016)!
I'd searched hours and hours, until Month and years and over the whole Internet for this search string:"Norton Safe Search edit Quick-Links" and all i get -over and over- was this thread - as unsolved.
The only way -and i think this is not a really hopefully way- is to a vote for a Product Suggestion - for example my, and here:https://community.norton.com/en/forums/norton-safe-search-needs-editable-quick-links
You have to click on "me to". Directly under the article, you can a link named this.
You do n not have to use the Safe Search Home Page
That is a voluntary thing. You can still have the Safe Search function with any browser if you have Safe Search turned on in the Settings of your Norton product. You can delete the Safe Web Home Page and pick your own Home Page. You don't have to use the Ask Toolbar.
When we don't use a quick link, we should be able to delete it from the Safe Search page. I never use Twitter so I don't want it. I frequently use Google so I would like a Google quick link and If I could add it myself, I would be grateful. If I make a mistake entering a link, I would need to edit it! This feature would enhance the Norton product!
You could put your suggestion in the Product Suggestions part of the Forum. The Norton Staff do check out that part of the Forum and sometimes they add or take away parts of the program according to what they see there.
