Norton Safety Minder on XXXX used by XXXXX has been disabled.

I have Norton Safety Minder running on 2, new, Windows 7 PCs. One installation is called  Jesse and the other called woody.

About 5-10 min. after ether child logs in, I receive the notification that the Safety Minder has been disabled and that the PCs should be restarted. Nothing get logged.

The Safety Minder icon appears in the system tray on both PCs and is not Xed out. I have also disabled access to the Task Manger on both PCs. I did this because I assumed my oldest, searched youTube and found out how to stop the service but this was not the case.

Both PCs also have the latest version of 360 running.

Any ideas as to why Safety Minder is not working?

Hi jlemesur,

How long have you been using the program?  How long has the issue been going on?

Do the children have Administrative rights on their PCs?

Thanks,

Katie

Re: Norton Safety Minder on XXXX used by XXXXX has been disabled.

Hey Katie,

I've been useing Norton Safety Minder for 202 days :)

The kids have standard user accounts in Windows 7 Pro. with no access to the admin profile. They can't even access the Task Manger.

Frankly; my kids are 6 and 12 and they are not exactly technically savvy - yet.

Cheers

Doug

jlemesur,

Does it take a relatively long time for the child to start the PC?  If so, it's possible that you could get the message as the program looks for the online family services and it hasn’t been loaded completely yet.

Thanks,

Katie

Thanks Katie
