Norton Secure VPN not connecting after OS 11.6.1 update

Hi,

It seems that my Norton secure VPN is no longer working properly after the OS 11.6.1 update. It remains stuck at the "connecting" stage forever, but I have already allowed Norton Secure VPN to access the internet in the firewall. Anyone having the same issue?

Yes - I've tried to uninstall and then redownload VPN and even waited 55 min to talk to a help desk person. still have same problem. I don't get the pop-ups to do the keychain fix either.  What's another VPN for Macbook pro?  I'm done with Norton!

I am having the same problem. Norton VPN won't connect following ID and password entry. Problem began following update to Mac OSMonterey 12.0.1. Actually it started on prior OSMonterey version. VPN program just quit allowing access. Before reinstalling, VPN application would stay on attempting to connect (resulting in) heating up the Mac Pro to high level only solved by a Force Quit of VPN application.  Reinstalling program does not solve problem. Changing password does not solve problem.  Turning off Mac Firewall and attempting to sign in does not solve problem.  

Connected to Norton Support. Described issue on problem window only to be asked again by Norton's robotic system to restate problem. Was referred to menu of possible solutions. None was even close to answering problem question I posed. Quite frustrating.  Finally, robotic system placed me on queue to exchange text messages with Norton expert.  First, a message that a specialist will be with you "shortly." After a good wait, a message that "due to a high volume of inquiries" expect delays.  After a long wait, cancelled the inquiry.  Just didn't have time to wait and wait. 

Has Norton provided a solution? Am I missing something? Perhaps, my technical skills and know-how are not seeing the forest from the trees.

I also am unable to sing-in to my VPN after update to macOS Big Sur 11.6.1. After entering userID and pswd the app is "redirecting..." then it comes back to sign-in page. Cannot get past this loop. Everything was working before.  Has anyone come up with a SOLUTION?????

I uninstalled, downloaded and reinstalled norton VPN because I could no longer turn it on.  I need to create my laptop VPN connection manually because I have McAfee installed.  I only want to use Norton VPN without Norton Security.  Need talk to person

This issue is occuring due to the recent roll out of new updates in the Opertaing system of Apple.

Norton is supported on the OS version of your Mac. This issue is widespread over all versions. There is a syncing error between the Norton product and the updates.

WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO NORTON?!  I HAVE BEEN HAVING NOTHING BUT TROUBLE GETTING ANYONE AT NORTON TO HELP ME.  MY NORTON VPN STOPPED WORKING AFTER LATEST APPLE UPDATE (ON OCT. 26, 2021)
     2018 MACBOOK - macOS 12.0.1 MONTEREY
     2015 iMAC - macOS 11.6.1 BIG SUR
I HAVE SPENT SEVERAL HOURS ON HOLD (BOTH TELEPHONE AND CHAT) ONLY TO BE UNEXPECTEDLY AND UNAPPOLOGETICALLY DISCONNECTED.
  I AM EXTREMELY FRUSTRATED WITH NORTON AND FEEL THEY ARE NOT REPONDING TO MY ISSUSES.  I DO NOT FEEL NORTON APPRECIATES ALL OF THE TIME I HAVE SPENT ON HOLD WITH THEIR TECH SUPPORT DISPITE THEIR "WE APPRECIATE YOUR PATIENCE" STATEMENT FROM THEIR ONHOLD MESSAGE.  I HAVE BEEN A LOYAL NORTON CUSTOMER SINCE 2017.  I FEEL NORTON IS FORCING ME TO CANCEL ALL OF MY NORTON PRODUCTS AND GO TO A DIFFERENT VENDOR.  THIS IS EXTREMELY ANNOYING AND NOT CUSTOMER FRIENDLY.

I too have been getting nowhere trying to deal with Norton Technical services regarding my Norton 360 Deluxe running on my iMac and MacBook Pro after installing macOS 12.0.1.  I have been on hold with the technical services for over 1.5 hours twice in one day.  Nobody is picking up the phone.  This form of customer service really sucks.

They claim in many places on their web site that Norton 360 Deluxe is fully compatible with macOS Monterey.  I don't believe it. If there is a fix out there, can someone please steer me to it?

In addition, is there an email address for Norton Corporate to submit a complaint?

I BELIEVE I FIGURED IT OUT!

I uninstalled ALL Norton products and download files from my computers. 

I dumped everything from my trash bin and rebooted my computers from a cold start.

I then logged into my Norton account and downloaded each of my Norton products, per my subscriptions.

Then I rebooted my computers (things didn't work if I didn't do this step ... ???).

I then installed first my Norton Security software, following all of the installation and activation instructions.

After the "restart,"  per the on-screen instructions, I installed and activated my Norton VPN.

I then rebooted, one more time, and checked that everything was working properly.  I WAS!

YEAH!!

All of this without the assistance of Norton Tech Support.

So, your Norton product (Norton AntiVirus Plus [here]) does not include Norton Secure VPN?   
You have stand-alone Norton Secure VPN? 

Does Norton 360 for Mac include integrated Secure VPN?

Sorry, I'm unsure whether Norton Secure VPN for Mac board is for stand-alone Secure VPN &or integrated Secure VPN.  Or, Norton Secure VPN for Mac board is only for stand-alone Secure VPN?  And integrated Secure VPN issues belong with Norton 36O for Mac board.

Same here... VPN will not connect. During my usual (annoying) having to re-install every week or two (because Norton won't start), the VPN would no longer connect. I updated to Big Sur 11.6.1 two days ago. I noticed during my attempts to reinstall that I DO NOT receive all the pop up boxes that I should... i.e. where I allow access. I've already removed my credit card info from my Norton account... not going to allow an auto-renew... shopping around for a new product.

Briefly on my Macbook Air running 12.0.1 then stopped. (wtf!?!?!?)

I am still unable to get it running, again, after several uninstalls and re-installs.

So frustrating.

I am still talking about the Notion 360 Deluxe (5 Macs) which has the integrated VPN with the product.  I can not get to the VPN because I can not get the Norton 360 Deluxe to start at all on my computer.

I uninstalled the Norton 360 from my iMac, following the instructions in the "uninstall and reinstall" instructions and found it also changed the WiFi connection on that computer.  I was not able to get on line at all. I had to call Apple support and she was able to reset the WiFi in the System Preferences/Network page.  She said I was not the first person who contacted Apple about this problem with the uninstall of Norton 360 Deluxe.

I have not reinstalled the Norton installation files on that computer until I get the version on my MacBook Pro running.

If not, I will have no choice but to cancel my Subscription and find a different security product to purchase.

After 4 days, I still have no VPN on my Mac (Big Sur 11.3.1).  I was told by Customer Support on 11/2 that the problem first occurred on 11/1, and that it would be fixed by their Engineering Team in 24-48 hours (by 11/3 or 11/4).  It is now 11/5.  Where's the fix?

Further, I have been on hold for nearly 4 hours to the VPN Support Team (800-745-6061), without speaking to a human being. The music gives me a migraine.

If Peter Norton is listening, I agree with the sentiments expressed universally in this thread.  I, too, am shocked with the stonewalling I have received this week from Norton Customer "Service/Support".  I have been a loyal Norton customer since the 80's, when I purchased PC Tools.  I have always considered Norton to be the Gold Standard for device utility software.  I have always opted to pay for it, rather than deploy any of the free utilities on my devices, because I perceive value in Norton's products. 

Sadly, I, too, may cancel my Norton Security, LifeLock, and VPN subscriptions if Customer "Service/Support" does not redeem itself in the next 24 hours.  I thank Norton for thanking me over and over again for my patience while I wait on hold by phone and by chat.  But there is a limit, and Norton is not the only rodeo for device utilities.

Chat, which I have found to be an effective modality when seeking answers from vendors, has me in a holding pattern, waiting to land.  At 7:10 p.m. I entered the queue with an estimated wait time of 16 minutes.  At 7:26 I started to receive alternating messages informing me that "An agent will be with you shortly".  It is now 8:00 p.m.(50 minutes after requesting the chat) and still no agent.  No more patience!
