Norton Secured Icon

I have NIS 2012 19.1.0.28

IE 8 is on the left and Firefox 6.0.2 is on the right. You'll notice on IE the Norton Secured icon looks stretched and ugly. But on Firefox is looks normal.

Re: Norton Secured Icon

Just a note IE9 is fine.

It appears to only be on IE8 or earlier.

It's only on IE8 possibly 7 or 6.

Re: Norton Secured Icon

The most probable cause is IE8's non standards complient rendering engine (IE9's engine comply to the standards better).  I think Norton should switch to the method they used for Norton Internet Security 2011 and below and not depend on the browser's rendering engine.

Re: Norton Secured Icon

I'm unable to reproduce this problem in IE 8(8.0.6001.18702). Here is the screenshot:

Can you try resetting the IE to default settings and check for this problem again?

You can find the option to reset in Tools > Internet Options, go to Advanced tab and click Reset. After reseting IE, restart the IE, and enable all Norton/Symantec add-ons. Check the search results again.

Thanks,

HarryP

Re: Norton Secured Icon

Looks like its already solved.  Perhaps, Google/Symantec made some changes.  Problem did not occur anymore.

Re: Norton Secured Icon

I tried resetting IE8 and the icons are still stretched.

So no this is not solved but one of the Symantec Employee's said it was being looked into.

Did you notice this is Internet Explorer 9 NOT IE8 (as noghere says).  Problem ONLY happen in IE8 (cause different rendering engine, I think). But I did NOT observe this problem in IE8 on my XP machine.

Yes. It happens with IE8 (not with FF) on my Home XP SP3 full updated machine and only with the gray icons (not with the green icons).
