Norton Security 2015 Purchase

I am a little disturbed that Norton is not offering any discounts on the purchase of Norton Security 2015 for existing customers.  Since all existing customers have to buy a new subscription, because the old product line has ended with no renewals, forcing loyal existing customers to pay full price seems like a way to drive these customers to other excellent competitor products who will give a discount.  This seems like a major marketing mess-up by Symantec.  Anyone have any thoughts?

I agree too. Symantec needs to wake up and stop the ignorance. Do now than later. Keep your customers happy.

Re: Norton Security 2015 Purchase

Hi, Even if you didnt get a fair price directly from Norton, checking the local retailers or online stores like amazon would help you rate some bucks. Check out if this is a good deal : http://buy-static.norton.com/norton/ps/bb/2up_ns_nsbu_us_en_md_notw_brnf... ( thanks to hok for the link ) and http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keyw...

Re: Norton Security 2015 Purchase

Price has been reduced on the Norton U.S. website, but no such offer here in the UK. My NIS subscription expires in 14 days and I am seriously considering moving elsewhere.

Re: Norton Security 2015 Purchase

At least the US / UK sites aren't still selling NAV, NIS and N360 like the Australian site.

Re: Norton Security 2015 Purchase

I am going to find an alternate security software vendor. I will not be deliberately lied to. I will not buy a new license for a product I feel entitled to have immediately. I have a few months left on my 10 NIS subscriptions after which I will migrate my 10 computers to a more reputable and ethical vendor who does not change the rules of the game after the game has started.

No one push you to buy from UK site, go and buy from US for 59, or from Russian norton site for 43... Here is some translation, so you will know where to click

Re: Norton Security 2015 Purchase

I always try and buy a renewal way ahead of time when I see it on sale.

I was lucky to get NS for $40.00 from Staples in Canada. I still had 8 months left on my NIS, and Norton chat had no problem moving my remaining days from NIS to NS.

I can see it may be a problem for a customer who's NIS is about to expire and they are forced to pay full retail for NS. Maybe best in that case to buy NIS (I'm sure there will be lots of good deals on that), and then wait for a deal on NS.

Re: Norton Security 2015 Purchase

My first post here, though I have been following the forum for a while. Have been a Norton-subscriber for 10 years ( first NAV, later NIS) and currently use NIS 2014.

I have a few months left of my subscription and am considering upgrading to NS 2015, but have a few questions I hope Symantec / expert users here can answer first.

Is it permitted by Symantec for a person to do as is mentioned in a post here above, to buy a Norton Product Key from a different country/region than one's own? (say you live in western Europe but buy a NS Product Key from Norton's official Russia site, or you live in Canada and buy a NS Product Key from Norton's official German site, because it is much cheaper or sooner available or similar)? If yes, will that Product Key work on a downloaded NS-product in your country, and in your (say English) language? Or do you risk getting a Russian language version of NS in the said example above which cannot be changed?

Also, soon after NS was released I read in this forum that Norton would at some point in the future introduce a kind of 'transition'-offer or 'deal' for current subscribers of NIS, who would then be able to buy a NS-license - 'upgrade' - for a 'fair price'. Is there anything new on this, will there be such a 'transition'-offer from Symantec do you think?

Re: Norton Security 2015 Purchase

Keys bought from official Norton web store (US http://us.norton.com/, Russian http://ru.norton.com/ or Philippines http://ph.norton.com/ or any others) will work on any version, I am sure. I always use keys from Russian store and they work well with English version. About key activation - no, I do not activate with Russian IP address.

Is it permitted? May be some officials will answer this.

But... They may not work with some Norton being sold by providers, such as Norton from Comcast or others, cannot give advice here. Never used them, or heard anything.

Re: Norton Security 2015 Purchase

Hi Malagant,

If you buy a product key from a foreign country that is ok to use. If say you have an English version of NIS installed, and you extend your license with that key it will remain in English. If however you have to do a reinstall, make sure to download an English version. I just purchased a renewal from my Turkish site, it picked up I had an English key and continues with the same one! Hope this helps.

Surely when it comes from your internet provider such as Comcast it does not require activation with a key?  It's supplied already activated when you download and install from them, like when you download and install a copy from your own Norton Management does not need additional activation.

Re: Norton Security 2015 Purchase

There are already some good deals going. Unless you have 10 devices then consider the 5 user NS

Norton Security (1-5 Users) [Product Key Card]  from Staples $49.99 Item: 1169724    Model: 21332661

Norton store has $40 coupons off for N360 2014. In the States we have Black Friday, the day after our Thanksgiving Day where prices fall from the sky on some items. Software can sometimes be purchased at a real discount. The new trend is to offer these items on-line now so no more standing in lines at the local markets to get them.

Re: Norton Security 2015 Purchase

Just purchased NS from Amazon for $29.99 here - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MV9EL6M/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s0.... Don't know how long this price will last, so hurry!! This is for the product key card, not the download.
