Yes, I check deal of the day at Amazon each day and saw this. I currently have NIS and it is due for renewal on April 28 (auto renew charged April 9). I couldn't however find a price on the renewal for 3-device NIS so I don't know if I should buy NS while the price is low. Also, once using NS (5-device), will the yearly renewal be a lot more than NIS renewal is. (My last year's renewal for NIS was about $70, I think.)

Hi Scoop8. Thanks. I just got my copy.

I've never downloaded software from Amazon. I have an activation code and am currently running NIS 2014. I thought Amazon had their own download libraries but when I tried it I was redirected to norton.com/setup.

To those who have been thru this upgrade process what is the easiest way to make the transition? In the past, when upgrades were free with active licenses I just bought activation codes and entered them.

Thanks,

NS is a new product and its key cannot be used on NIS.

You have to download NS and install it , then enter its key.

You can install NS over the top of NIS.

Be aware there are a few threads on here about problems with NS, so read before you jump.

Thanks for your reply Jim.

Do you have a download link for NS? Also, how do I get it into my Norton Account once installed?

Thanks again

I thought Amazon had their own download libraries but when I tried it I was redirected to norton.com/setup.

I believe all the authorized download "sales" sites direct you to Norton. So if you encounter one that appears not to then be very cautious and get it verified here or from Norton direct.

Norton renewals seem always higher than buying a new copy and using the KEY for that just before your old subscription expires since it counts as a new product and wipes out unexpired time ..... although we hear that Norton OnLine Support via CHAT are good about adding it back in .... but better not to rely on it.

However if you do upgrade to NS with unexpired time from a previous version eg NIS then, after you install the new NS, CHAT will definitely add the lost time back in on demand at present; maybe automatically one day?
