Norton security device administrator can be deactivated without entering pattern in app lock screen

If in the case of theft, and managed to bypass the phone lock,  anyone can possibly deactivate nortons device administrator access which helps them to uninstall Norton products in the phone. So I enabled Norton app lock to protect phone settings. But it seems there is a considerable gap of micro seconds before the Norton app lock pattern entry screen appears on the screen and that windows of opportunity can be utilised to deactivate device administrator like if u have fast fingers.. you get a glimse of the position of tick across the Norton products in device administrator menu on first try and few times later you will be able to click on it which opens deactivate page and you can deactivate..

Likewise, if you open google authenticator app which is locked with Norton app lock, there also a micro seconds gap which you can read the google 2 factor authentication code by repeated trys.

Its actually the delay problem of Norton app lock. I have screen recorded the issue but don't know how to post it here.

Hope this issue will be resolved soon..

Re: Norton security device administrator can be deactivated without entering pattern in app lock screen

What device and Android version are you using?

I have seen a short delay occasionally. Have you been able to work fast enough to be able to disable the Device Administrator Setting? It is not like it is just one tap that you can use to do this. On my devices I have to scroll to one area of settings, tap on that, then scroll again and tap, then find NMS and tap and tap again to confirm. And that assumes the user knows the exact sequence required and location on the screens for each step. The delay I have seen was certainly not long enough to even get part way through this process.

Re: Norton security device administrator can be deactivated without entering pattern in app lock screen

My device is Sony Xperia Z2 d6502 running stock rom android 6 marshmallow. It is when u try to uninstall Norton mobile security from home launcher, it straight goes to screen saying manage device administrator. On next click the list is shown knowing the area of the tick near to Norton app lock and Norton mobile security followed by quick pattern entry. Now I guess phone settings app starts running in background so the next try like you said it's very quick and tough to click. So just put the screen off and on next try that delay is enough to simply fast tap on that tick area and deactivate confirmation is shown without going to app lock pattern entry. And I was able to do this twice to deactivate it.. Yes it's kind of tricky to do it at first.. And in my device top two list in device administrator page is both Norton products and no need to scroll or anything and we can see both right at the top. Well this is the case of app lock delay.. But in the case of opening Google authenticator you can simply see the code by 2 or 3 app openings.

I'll pass this on to my Norton contacts.
