Norton Security Firewall blocks Brother All-in-One Scanner

At the request of Brother, I completed uninstalled the software for their AIO and reinstalled the software. I was still unable to scan a document to my computer. When I temporarily turned off the Norton Security Firewall, I was able to successfully scan. How do I determine what I need to do to open up the firewall to wireless scanning in the future. I have no problem with printing.

Try resetting the Norton Firewall.

To reset the Norton firewall, from the main Norton Security screen click on Settings - Firewall. On the General tab, click on Reset beside Firewall Reset. Restart your computer. As you use programs that access your network/internet, the firewall rules will be created again.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.

Are you initiating the scan from your PC (via Control Center 4 software [for example]) or from the Brother AIO device?

If the Firewall reset does not solve the issue, can you tell us if your network is configured as a Private (Home / Office) or Public network?

After resetting the firewall AND restarting the computer, I can now successful initiate the scan from the computer. I still can't initiate it from the AIO.

A Private Network setting (on your Window's Network & Internet Settings) should allow all devices on your local network to communicate with each other.  Both devices are connected to the same wireless router?
